Re: Old World Almanack – Your First Look at the Rules

For what it's worth, this game doesn't look like it focuses on balance. It looks (to me, delightfully) fluffy. The future "armies of infamy" for example sound creative and hopefully will draw on the inspiration of those cool customised army lists of 6th ed (I'm thinking of the pirates of S...

Re: Old World Almanack – Your First Look at the Rules

Shooting rules have appeared: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/11/13/old-world-almanack-darken-the-skies-with-volleys-of-arrows-quarrels-shot-bolts-balls-and-screaming-skulls/ Some familiar mechanics (long bows keep their range), though some changes too. Modifications to armour saves - are t...

Re: Crossing Swords

Commiserations SpellArcher, though thank you for taking the photos of your battle, putting them up, and writing up the report. My only query is about Seredain's Griffon BSB - do you why was it placed in front of his RBTs? I can see that it projects threat through creating a "if you get within 1...

Hi Icarion,

I forgot to mention earlier when you posted pictures - your models look awesome. And I'm saying this as a Dark Angels loyalist!

Re: Crossing Swords

Very exciting SpellArcher. I like the photos and the game mat of the rocky ground looks great. Re the game, my view from over here is that you're in the stronger position? You have Seredain's forces split, in that his frosty is bogged down by your (horrors?) on the hill in your deployment zone, and ...

Re: The Cavalry Prince - List Design, Tactics, Battle Reports

Hi Seredain, Thanks for the update. Can I ask, how does your BSB on his griffon, with the BotWD, operate in your army? I don't think he can join units, so is he there as a magic and shooting magnet? Also do you find that you have to be careful with your BSB on a griffon in close combats? I've tried ...

Re: How to deal with Skaven as High elves

Well done taldarinzphoenix, I've been following your thread with interest though didn't post before as I haven't played against Skaven before. My read is you used redirectors well? And life magic was effective here at keeping units and characters alive, and dwelling enemy units too. I think Dwellers...

Re: Tethlis' Army Blog, back after 9 years

Hi Tethlis, I'm a long time fan of your battle reports so I'm glad you're active again. I don't have much to query re your latest report. Just wondering why you went with WAP rather than say 8th or the ever popular 6th - just a product of who you can get games with? Or was there something about WAP ...

Re: Crossing Swords

Re-reading Seredain's list though, the level 1 has no ward save so it would be safer to hide them in the archer unit?

Re: Crossing Swords

Hi all, Very exciting. In Seredain's army, both mages will sit with the PGs? The BSB would start with the silver helm bodyguard for the prince, or might wander around with their Reaver Bow looking for targets of opportunity? I can see how sticking them with the silver helms makes sense though. A mov...

Re: The Cavalry Prince - List Design, Tactics, Battle Reports

Thanks SpellArcher and Prince of Spires. Both reasons make sense. I struggle to power a Loremaster + AM in my 8th ed games.

Re: The Cavalry Prince - List Design, Tactics, Battle Reports

Hi gents, Hello from Australia here. 'Long time listener, first time caller', to quote from an old episode of the Simpsons... I too just wanted to say welcome back Seredain. I've been following your blog for a while now, and I'm excited to see new posts being made. I just have one follow up question...
