I have many elves nearly completed. However, all of them have been put on hold. It's Orctober.

The main Orctober project. I've got some others, but this is the one I really wanted to get done.

I did finish up a wizard for the WE allies/army

This would have been done awhile ago, but then I found the bird, and decided this was the proper place to use that accessory instead of giving him a bow.

Lovely models Shannar!
I particularly like the Warlord on Wyvern :D

The Wyvern is great indeed. I like him. The model on top feels a little bit like a shaman instead of a warlord ;) But he still looks good.

The mage is a lovely model. And I like the paint job. The decal at the front is a very lovely detail. He does look a little bit shiny, but that might just be the picture.

He is indeed a shaman, that's why i wanted to add this one. It's part of the Grom story.

The horse is a little shinny. I tend to do horses with a satin rather than matte varnish. This one probably has to much barding for that though.

Aren’t they though? What I really like is the care you can see Shannar has taken over them.

I'm going to have to check those out. I'm working on some river trolls and stuck on some colour choices.

Got a bit done to finish up Orctober in proper fashion. The kids helped a bit, and we shaded using minwax polyshade. I think it worked fairly well. It also saved some time, and it should make a very durable finish. That will be important for the Heroquest Orcs. The oldest is about ready for warhammer, so all of these will serve double duty as rank fillers for a couple of warhammer Orc units. The battlemasters ones are on 75x50 mm bases so they'll fit in as unit fillers quite well.

I've got more Orcs and goblins that need some paint, however November ist der ELFte Monat.

The shade is very effective indeed. Works well to give the miniatures some definition. I love the Heroquest orcs. That brings back some memories.

Safe to say plastic models were still not the mainstream in those days.

True on the plastic models. I do wish they kept making just cheap rank filler model though, it would have helped make warhammer work in 6th through 8th.

Agreed. Needing 100 models to play a game is already a pretty high barrier of entry. But if even the simple R&F models cost €4 a model then it becomes an expensive barrier of entry as well.

Yep, 4th edition. Rather than hunt down one more I added the unicorn (which is much approved). I figure it can act as a musician when I want one too, it's got a horn.

=D> Can't argue with that logic.

And I think unicorns are universally approved off by little girls. At least my four year old would definitely approve as well :)

I like the painting as well. Nothing too outlandish in how they look and the colors work well together.

The unicorn I'm not sure. It feels like he could use a bit more contrast in his (her?) manes. But that could be the picture being a bit too bright.

Just finished a unit of spearmen, and a duelist for mordheim. But I'm unhappy with my pictures, so I'll have to try again tomorrow in the sunshine.

Well, November has ended with only 25 minis finished. Not quite one a day. However I've got a great start on December, with 11 ready for sealing and then basing already. I've also got good progress on 3 treemen and two chariots, so hopefully I finish at least a total of 20 or so this month.

It's not bad at all. But I really hope for one a day. I'd claim 4 were cav models, but the horses were done in October.

Finished 2 archers for my Merchant company, 5 mm80 wood elf archers to serve as scouts for the sea elf army, and a sea elf bolt thrower. 3 treemen just need to be based. If the sun ever comes out again I'll have a lot of pictures to post. I've also finished 4 horses for chariots, with two more very nearly done. The crew is also about 80% finished, so there is a chance for some chariots this month as well.
