They are the most bad-ass elves I've come across I think. At least the original first age, Silmarillion, let's take up arms against the most powerful god we can find variety, and not the more mopey 3rd age ones. And definitely not the ones from the movies...Galharen wrote:and our uberspear build reminds me of some Tolkien elves.
That's what I ment;) I have always in my mind the description of king Finglofin (?) dueling Balrogs on his own, epic! I've read the Silmarillion many many years ago, but still some images are strong;)Prince of Spires wrote:They are the most bad-ass elves I've come across I think. Rod
I guess no-one, not even Gandalf survived duelling a Balrog, though he did return, as possibly did Glorfindel?Prince of Spires wrote:There was a few duels between elves and balrogs described. Feanor was indeed the big one, who fought a bunch of them at a time. Glorfindel another. And Ecthelion who fought Gothmog at the fall of Gondolin.
Ringîl left some marks!Prince of Spires wrote:For me, the Fingolfin and Morgoth duel was the most epic one.
Remeniscent of Aenarion too, for me.Galharen wrote:Heavily insipred by Achilles and Leonidas
Yeah, exactly, I had in my mind the art of Aenarion dueling the great deamons form 6ed Armybook, I can't wait to try him out with some spearmen regiment;)SpellArcher wrote:The colours are so striking Galharen!

Indeed. Never thought about it. But dueling a Balrog seems to be a deadly occupation. As for Glorfindel, I think it was never fully solved if it's the same elf or a different one between the Silmarillion and LotR.SpellArcher wrote:I guess no-one, not even Gandalf survived duelling a Balrog, though he did return, as possibly did Glorfindel?Prince of Spires wrote:There was a few duels between elves and balrogs described. They certainly look bad-ass enoughGalharen wrote:I think those two could easily duel the balrog or other greater deamon of khorne
For some reason I feel the Korhil was born to fight Throgg the Troll King! I can’t help thinking of Beowulf too.Galharen wrote:I think those two could easily duel the balrog or other greater deamon of khorne
Yeah, I used true metallics. I have to admit taht recetly I prefer that way over nmm, simply because I can achieve a good-looking effect quicker than with nmm. And looks more ancient to me, especially on recently painted miniatures;)Mireadur wrote:Loving them, what else =), but did you use true gold in there and the buffed up ''elfspartan''? Thats new i believe!
Oh yes, I remember that army, simply amazing! But it would be too much for me to make an army with the new color scheme.SpellArcher wrote:Seriously Galharen, after those archers I think you should do an Avelorn-style army, it’d look amazing. I’m sure you remember Gray’s thread?
