Re: Selling: Admiralty Miniatures
Most of my historical wargaming was in 15mm. Building Warhammer armies was a culture shock at first!

I was used to Prinz August tin Caroleans, so Warhammer seemed so small and detailed when my brother discovered it.

I remember seeing these at Hamleys in London many years ago. You could cast your own?Karak Norn Clansman wrote:I was used to Prinz August

Re: Selling: Admiralty Miniatures
Yep! Fun stuff. And also a reason why I've not dabbled in casting miniatures of my own but let casters do that hassle. Coupled with reading up on difficulties for professional casting, my previous experience with Prinz August Caroleans meant I could easily imagine the myriad issues facing an amateur caster. Warhammer-style miniatures demand much better details and no miscasts, in a way which rough and ready Prinz August homecasts can't compare with.

Yep, I'd say the biggest barrier to casting is capital rather than skill.

Re: Selling: Admiralty Miniatures
Definitely true. Professional molds are very expensive, which leads needing relatively big runs to make it economically viable. It's probably one of the advantages GW has over many other suppliers.Shannar, Sealord wrote:Yep, I'd say the biggest barrier to casting is capital rather than skill.
For Nagarythe: Come to the dark side.

I remember a lovely shot from the Citadel Journal of Nigel Stillman casting his own. Like they used to do in the 70’s!Karak Norn Clansman wrote:Warhammer-style miniatures demand much better details

No school like the old school!
Postnord, the Swedish postal service, will raise their prices by the 1st of January 2018. This will mean higher shipment for much of what I sell, and some headache recalculating and updating shipment here, on Ebay, Etsy and other places.
So, if anyone is looking to order something, they might want to do so before the shipment hike at the start of next year.
