CAN'T LOG IN? -> Cookie issues

#1 Post by Ricold »

If you're having issues logging in right now, clear your ulthuan cookie. Due to a slight issue I have had to reprogram the cookie, and the old one will tell you you've logged in, then log you straight back out again. Clearing it appears to solve this issue.

You can click this link to clear your cookie: http://www.ulthuan.net/forum/ucp.php?mo ... te_cookies

For those like me who struggle with IT, I am on Android and did this in Chrome by going into Recent Tabs, then Show Full History, then Clear Browsing Data, then leaving only the 'Cookies, site data' box ticked, then choosing Clear.

I was then able to log back into Ulthuan and remain logged in.

I didn't see this, but I figured the cookies must be the issue. Perhaps making it a more visible announcement would be a good idea. And maybe a bit of a how-to guide, as I'll bet there are many who don't know how to do it.

Like maybe making it it's own forum section visible from the main page titled "how to fix your log in issues" or something like that. Activity is down enough due to GW changes already, it would be a shame to loose people due to site issues.

Yeah I think pinning this until it is fixed is a good idea.

using the clear cookie link didn't work on ios safari browser. Not a huge deal but any advice on how to get ios fixed for this bug is welcome!

I'm not an apple guy, but google told me this:
To clear your history and cookies from Safari in iOS 8 or later, tap Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. In iOS 7 or earlier, tap Clear History and tap Clear Cookies and Data.

To clear other stored information from Safari, tap Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.

Clearing your history, cookies, and browsing data from Safari won't change your AutoFill information.

That basically is what I found too, thanks, Shannar!

These are the exact steps I followed that worked for ios cookies:

1. Open “Settings” and tap on “Safari”

2. Scroll to the bottom and tap on “Advanced”

3. Tap “Website Data”

4. Tap “Edit” in the upper right corner, then tap the red (-) minus symbol next to the individual website you wish to remove cookies from followed by the “Delete” button

Wow, I thought I'd never be back! :) This only works when I disable cookies entirely, as soon as I allow them I keep getting logged out again. Any ideas?

Yeah I've had the odd recurring issue on my phone with this but it's not every time I log in. Only twice I think since the original cookie issue.

I've made another small change that may help, and will probably log you out.

Not EXACTLY what this topic was meant for I'm sure, but...

Hello all, and admins in particular. It's Luna Guardian, but I am unable to access my old account due to having forgotten my password and having changed email accounts since my last visit. How would I go about regaining access to my Luna Guardian account? I feel kind of weird in this "rental" :P

Step one is posting here (or sending me a PM, but posting here is fine). Then, someone works some magic and you should now have an email with your new password.

If you want to change the email address attached to your account, you can do so on the user control panel, under "edit account settings"

Hello. I had just reactivated my account Elias Kalderon and was amazed it still worked, but then I tried to change my email address and I was suddenly logged out and it said the account was inactive. Resending the activation email did not work. Could a friendly Loremaster help me out?

I'll confess I don't know how to fix this Elias. Hopefully Rod will be along soon.

I'll check it out for you. What email address should be linked to the account?

Edit: I've reactivated the account. you should be able to log in again. Let me know if the email address still needs changing or if something isn't working yet.
