Yeah, us too. But GW's move from 8th edition to Age of Sigmar hit all the race-specific sites hard. Thanks to the efforts of our members we still have something, several of the other sites have suffered more than us.

Yup, its not that bad - games still being played, miniatures painted. Only the rules questions forum seems to have died down

Long time since I've been on here, I miss those silver helm prince buses from 7th edition....

Still recognise some names, that Belgium lad, Shanar and SA seem to be on a lot.

I'm afraid I've been playing 40k for months now. Eldar are the closest to high elves so I've been concentrating on those recently. Mind you, genestealer cult are rewarding to paint in the same way white lions or phoenix guard were back in the day. First army I've got just to paint rather than for the rules.

I took a few years off completely, while I spent some time in the employ of the US Army. But other than that I've been here. I was surprised/disappointed at how may of the old hands were gone when I got back. But compared to most warhammer sites it's still going alright here (the empire one was doing really well last I was there, but that was 6 months or more ago.)

The Empire guys are still going strong - they have a strong off-topic section, which is obviously immune to any changes in game systems. The army itself is rather non-Warhammer specific, so that helps as well.

I forgot no one leaves here....

How hard would it be to hold another campaign? The last one I was in (2009?) was tons of fun

It's not just that though. I would regularly come on here and there would be 50+ Posts per day, on 20+ topics... now you're lucky if it's 5+ and 2+ respectively. I don't have access to actual statistics to back up my point, but I imagine it wouldn't be hard for the site admins to put such a thing together.

I think SA is right though; we have a great team in place to run the site, we have a strong core membership and people are still playing, painting and posting :)... we've just lost a few members around the fringes and the game is being played a little less frequently :(

We could use so more posters, but I do remember that a lot of those 20+ topics were giving the old same advice to new players regarding rules and list building. I'm surprised the painting section is so quiet - AoS is a good hobby opportunity (as I can see on Twitter) but I guess those people rarely visit our humble shores...

Hey, at least we're still here and have people floating around. Which is better then a lot of other forums. :)

Having a campaign sounds fun. At it would be possible. Though it would probably start / be a bit more humble then the 2009 one. But it might draw some more people (back) in. So I'm cautiously optimistic about having one. Why do you ask? You're having plans to start one?

Online campaign how? I'd certainly love something to keep the interaction up with folks on the site. Having never participated before since I was primarily focused on live gaming, I'd be interested.

I only have vague memories of the online campaign, I didn't take part in that one. I do remember Storm of Chaos though - logging in every morning to see the forces of evil held at bay :)

I enjoyed the previous one, just throwing the idea out there. If the code is still around from the last one, it shouldn't be too hard to resurrect. Though some balancing might be needed.

To find out you would probably have to poke Ricold. He'll know. It's probably still around, but also probably not fully functional anymore. And so probably a lot of work to fix. But we can see if we can get going. Of course, perhaps a more lightweight campaign could also work. Would probably be faster to set up and require less software...

Did someone say online camping!?
:P
I am game! Ah, I remember all of our glorious campaigns like it was yesterday. What glorious moments, what hillarious interactions!

I pop in from time to time but the killing of The Old World shut down my gaming. My mate who I used to play with got so pissed at GW.
We have talked about getting started again with Kings of War or maybe 9th age. But so far NO games played.

However, my new girlfriend and I are getting into Frostgrave. Shame there are no elves but at last I have found a use for The late roman minis I had lying around

Good to see you Ramesesis!

Being pissed at GW is fun and all but don't let that stop you from enjoying the Old World. A lot of us still play in the classic setting - check out all the reports

Focusing in getting Frostgrave going first. I will maybe try out AoS with my youngest son who is 7 years old.

Which book contain the point system?

Hey all. I still check in from time to time. No games played on my end for a long while with work and all though... I did try KoW recently. Enjoyed it. No plans to get back into Fantasy gaming in a big way though.
