Hey all,

My name is Jordan and I'm from Southern California, around the San Diego area. I have never played WH or WH40k, but have been painting the models for a couple years. I finally decided to get into playing, and the high elves were an easy choice! Looking forward to learning the game, and getting input from ya'll!

Hi,

Im new around here, found this website through warseer. I started painting my high elf army again after a 2 year break. I am currently repainting my HE army and trying to increase it from 1000 pts to 2000 pts. My main opponent is my brother with a dwarf army.

I like the HE galleries from the players I have seen here on this forum. Most of you are expert painters imo! Once my bro and I start battling again, I will post some batreps.

Hello all. Name's Rayvn, been playing 40k since the days of Rogue Trader and fantasy off and on since the early 90s. Mostly played undead and Warriors of Chaos but decided I needed something new and chose the High Elves for a nice change. I always wanted to know what it would be like to have a shooting phase  . Not sure where my elves will hail from but I'm really liking them lions. Anyways I look forward to learning allot from you guys

Greeting Noble Kin,

I'm actually an old (and inactive member who never posted) of this forum under God-knows-what-nickname-was-it-again?

Just last week, I was cleaning up my office and stumbled upon my High Elves Army, now full of dust inside a special glass cabinet. I turned on the yellowish lamp that might have not been touched since 2003, yes I used to live overseas, away from home for about 6 years and went back home in 2010.

What a nostalgy, looking at my precious glittering army.

The painting is laughable, with almost 80% of them can be considered "bad" now. I painted them during my high school days and now I'm a full-fledged graphic/advertising artist with my own design firm. The warhammer hobby is the thing that drives me into this field of business, I can't say I'm a big shot yet but working on it and made a significant progress. I'm so thankful that I've had the chance to experienced this magnificent game and world of which actually support my career (I still hate Warcraft Lore up till now lol.)

And the desire is burning again. With better resources I've got now compared to 10 years back I was thinking to build another high elves army, not for gaming, just for old time's sake and visual satisfaction.

Nice to see you all,
Aidur

First post so what the heck might aswell make it a 4am whilst suffering from end of season football induced insomnia.

Real name is Mark, or Elessedil of Etaine. A veritable old fogey to most of the local gamers at 36. I have been a wander of this board and was a member in the dark and distant past.
A couple of years back met a lovel lady who like me is a gamer and through progression we have found ourselves back where i began some 28 years ago. Warhammer Fantasy.
I used to be able to field a might host of 10k points but alas the gods hated me and they got trashed in a house move back in 1996. Since then i have flirted with warhammer but never really got back into it. Tried various armies...and in recent times (much to my other halfs amusement/horror) bounced from tomb kings to brettonians to empire. But none of them felt 'right'. So after some discussion today....and a mighty abscence, i have returned to ulthuan.

I havent been idle i might hasten to add. Along the journey i have somehow gained a gamers lair for all the hobby goodness (finishing touches coming monday yay) and found myself being deemed a 'henchman' for wyrd minatures and promoting their skirmish game malifaux, which has kept my brush strong.

So i hope to see you all about these boards...and pray that i have finally found my hobby 'happy' place again.

I guess I should post here as well...I am not really new to the site. My name is Talifan, and my 11,000 point army(yes 11,000 points worth of models but only 10500 points can be used in 8th at the moment) has been in the works since 1999.

Only in the last 2 years have I become the player that I am today, having amassed experience and techniques used in battle after 3 years of solid losses.

I can say with absolute certainty that no matter how bleak your outlook on your gaming experience, it always gets better. Time and practice make perfect.

hi guys, im mark from ireland, just flicking though the topic and i see our other irish member has betrayed the country and turned to the skaven rat men, so i am here to restore our honour!

my friends and i started out playin mordheim where i used a high elf warband, we graduated to warhammer about 6-8 months ago and havnt looked back!
between the 4 of us we have a woc, beastmen, VC, wood elf, ogres and dwarfs, with an O'n G army on the way. i stick to the high elves myself as i find all those other armies just aren't arrogant enough!

not much of a poster, however i have found reading the many blogs and battle reps quite useful, so keep em coming!
death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain

do an rpg personality test, im from Ireland and I get...

Hello everybody... This Senor is from Holland

Started WHF exactly 1 year ago, with the Island of Blood set..., when a local GW store opened.... :D . I'm really hooked to the game. Meanwhile I have a lot of both armies HE & SK, give or take 6000 points each.

Since a couple of months I also joined the local WHF club and started doing battles. With visiting this forum as guest, I learned a lot of the tactics and the ideas. Now that I'm not that much of a noob anymore, I like to join this great forum.

bye,bye for now...and speak to you later.

This seems to happen from time to time. I remember on the old boards a lot of us thought it was done for, and then it moved here and became huge. It doesn't seem to be at the peak level from back then, but scrolling though the topics (I've been gone awhile) it does seem to be building again, with almost entirely new people running things too. It's interesting how things go. That said, does anyone remember the old campaigns we used to do? I remember losing our island to the DE... I don't know if we have anyone who can handle the programing anymore or not (don't even remember who did it the first time around). But that was a lot of fun.

I've read a lot of the old archives, and the campaigns looked like they were a lot of fun.

Hi,
I'm Colin and I finally decided to register after lurking around here for the last 6 months stealing armies. I played high elves for Ireland at the 6 nations in Belfast last weekend and felt it's time to start giving back to the community that helped me so much with the high elves.

Hi all.

Ive been lurking around this forum for along time now and decided it was time I registered and contribute to your fantastic community.

Ive been playing warhammer since 6th ed mainly as a wood elf player, but I have flirted with high elves on and off. I have just finished a college course which means I have more time for the hobby. I intend to start a combined high elf/wood elf Avalorn army blog in the near future.

Hey all!

My name is Ryan and I currently reside in Texas. I've recently come back table top war gameing with WHFB/High Elves. I played 40k in the late 90s, but haven't played anything similar since. A friend "convinced" me (it didn't take much work on his part) to get into WHFB with him and it has been great. I've been lurking here for a few months now and decided it was time to step out of the shadows and introduce myself.

Thanks for the wonderful information and I look forward to learning and sharing as I go.
