Blade of Leaping Gold

#1 Post by Francis »

I have wanted to use this item with a prince for quite some time now, but can't get around the fact that the Giant blade is both better and cheaper. In that respect I have come up with what I think is a solution, which is to change BoLG to this:

"The Blade of Leaping Gold grants the wielder +3 Attacks.
In addition, any roll of 6 To Hit made with the Blade of
Leaping Gold wounds automatically and ignores armour saves."

My question is how to cost it. Since the original BoLG is rather overpriced imo, I was thinking of keeping it at 70p. Alternatively I was thinking 75 or 80p, but I do not think it should be priced at any more than 85 points (which is the cost of a Runefang).

What do you guys think?

My mates, (who play DE, TK, Skaven, O&G, Dwarfs and Ogres) seem to think the sword would be alright at 70p, but since I am making a fan item for informal games amongst friends, I really don't want to make it too strong.

Seems alright to me. Try it and find out? You can always scale it back if your buddies don't like it.
