Winged elves (idea for them)
The winged elves
They are rarely found in the lands of Ulthuan, but occasionally they descend from their fortresses built with magic in the clouds over Ulthuan. They are remarkable fighters in both the art of the sword and that of the bow.

Re: Winged elves (idea for them)
At first I thought this idea was random as hell but then I thought you could have a phoenix-y unit, something like Elven Icaruses (Icari?), with arcane artificer wings and phoenix staffs that shoot fireballs. They could be apprentice fire mages, not nearly ready as battle mages nor to ride a Dragon, but nevertheless eager to take to the skies.

Re: Winged elves (idea for them)
What would be interesting is replacing their long bows with "staves of fire"
Baisicly they summon a ball of flame at each end and hurl them at the enemy.
So:
30" range
S4
Multiple shots (2)
Flaming magical attacks
I think I just rather enjoy these themes, they could have options for staves, like say apprentice death casters can lose multiple shots and get sniper. Light can get 32" then beasts can get s5 and lose multiple shots. Then these can be upgrades points costs.
EDIT: thanks tenegal!

Re: Winged elves (idea for them)
the coven of heavens were sucked into a portal they created... this was the result. seems to fit the fluff, then they can summon coz they are mages, etc.

Re: Winged elves (idea for them)
The Wolfriders from Elfquest bred with wolves, though not quite in the way you might imagine. One elf shape-changed into a wolf then mated with them. The cub was half-elf. Whether this could be a viable concept with eagles, I'm not sure.
Tyldak was winged, though that was achieved with 'magic'.
