Advice on 1000pt 5th Edition Guard

So I haven't played a real 40K game since something like 4th edition. I however recently got the 5th Edition Guard Codex and Rule Book, and am now looking to put together a 1000 pts of Imperial Guard. I am planning on basing my army round two 35 man rifle platoons, with two Russes and two Veteran Squads for support. Below is my rough outline, what I really need help with is wargear. I have built a list for 40K in over a year and I am not sure what is the best way to tool up my various units.
