That was a game with some big swings in there. I thought by turn 2 that you were losing pretty badly. But then somehow the UL managed to take out the complete centre and left flank of the OK in T3. Fun game. So thanks for sharing!

Thanks prince, those OK were rather unkown to me, I wasn't doing my homework before hand, but expecially those stalkers managed to swing the battle in my favor.

But now my 7th game with UD

That was over fast...

Both armies look great on the battlefield. The TK have something regal, even though they're all dead... And the DE army is very characterful. I like how they borrowed a bit from a lot of different armies.

The battle itself was a great executed weighted flank attack. Focus everything (almost) on the weaker flank, take it out fast and then gang up on the rest of the army.

Thanks for sharing

thanks for the reply. Mosty my opponent used proxies to fill the gaps he has within his collection. For example he used my phoenix guards as tower guards, and graveguards as witch elves (bad representive, but gets the job done :D ). Screaming bell from my friend as altar etc.

For somereason I think Tomb Kings aesthetics are one of the best among games workshops creation. I also like the basic concept idea that they are not as per se evil, as one would expect for being undead but rather cursed to live in eternal damnation. I think that is more... how to say poetic approach :D

eight battle was really quick (also in terms of playing time, one of the quickest game I ever played). My opponent definately made serious mistakes especially placing those Blades of Nabh in the far flank. They would have had much more use in the middle either trying to destroy my sphinxes with tons of poisoned attacks or trying to get past to my mage bunker and grind it down with more than ease. In the current deployment place them more where acolytes were. Additonally he probably should have used harpies stall my battlesphinx or use them to hunt the catapult down for more cost effective way.

@Prince of spires (or anyone else) I think I am going to ask for the first time advice on advance how to beat my next opponent (as we are playing the tournament and we have the same list through all games)... I feel that against my next opponent Zerath (if all goes well we will face each other next tuesday) my list is really suboptimal and his list will steamroll my forces with ease.

Here is my opponent listhttp://loriel.kapsi.fi/ID.html and my listhttp://loriel.kapsi.fi/CK.html
  • Hobgoblins can be killed with my chariot / archer shooting, not the best but atleast I have opportunity to get points out of them (easy to achieve and very intuitive to do). Hobgoblin unit could also be tried to destroy with catapult panic shot.
  • Infernal Artillery can be destroyed either with Dread Sphinx or Stalkers, or perhaps catapults high str shot. I think I will try to use Dread Sphinx mainly to hunt this down. Hopefully it doesn't shoot my sphinx down before
  • Flint locks well, either my monster can take them out in direct combat.
  • Kadim Incarnates can be destroyed by either of my monsters, but it is more important to try to protect my skeleton bunker so these monstrocities doesn't hit it. AND they can definately be destroyed by casket due ld 7 and they are likely to wonder of from generals bubble
  • Immortal general deathstart bunker.... Well redirect redirect redirect. Sand Scorpion / scouts.... I don't have much else to say against them.
  • sand stalkers are golden choice agains anyhting on his list! But they are still only one unit.
SO basicly only way I can see victory by securing secondary objective and point denial. I cannot see good odds for victory trying to directly assaulting his forces. With high LD + bsb random panic is hard, due bodyguard and immortal prowess I mostlikely am unable to break them even if I had both my monsters on the unit.

If nothing else atleast ark of ages cosmology spell which takes one d6 from charge roll really helps here. Immortal having 3+d6 charge they are not that scary anymore :D:D howevery treple march will still get them where they need to be swiftly.

I really like the terrain you have to play on. A nice, densely packed city of scrap metal. Fun stuff.

We have a overhangin lamp on our gaming club which can change color. This was first time we used it with red light and alongisde 80 synth cyberpunk music atmosphere was excellent for some necromunda :D

Nice. Fun battles. And the red lighting is a great touch.

From your battle boards I think I like the sector mechanicus least. It's a great board. But a bit to "Shiny" and new. I like the grim and dirty look of the other two more.

Thanks. It certainly adds more flavor to the game to attempt some random narrative.

Yeah it was intense fight BUT especially the jimmy part was really funny. My opponent shot two blunderbluss shots to him, and in the new necromunda they are template weapon with scatter shot. and scatter shot means hit counts as 1d6 hits. They were str 2 shots against toughnes 3. My opponent first rolled 5 hits with scatter shot, only one wounded and seriousinjury was flesh wounds (which in necromunda means -1 toughnes for remainnder of games. then the second shot caused 4 hits, needed 4+ to wound (due flesh wound) no wounds.

AND when my leader Shawn Fought outnumbered he managed to broke most of the fighters due nerve test (basicly panic test within 3 inches) but when his leader with chain glaive attacked him I didn't realise that chain glaive was quite a bad ass weapon. to my extreme luck my oppoent rolled really badly and I managed to roll my 6+ save. I think odds were greatly in his favor in that close combat. But hey thats Necromunda, full of random things.

AND what made the Cawdors fate even more hilarious (trying not to laugh too much) is that he rolled lot of injuries that cause permanent penalties. AND when he fought the Buff Dudes right after our game he also suffered only those penalty type injuries. Normally it is likely that fighter simply goes out cold (nothign bad happend) or grievous injuury which causes them to miss next game.

And yes Gene Steeler is revered name among the hive. All knows and fears his heavy stubber :D

I think you made the right sacrifices to the dice gods that game ;)

It's equal parts fun and frustration I always find, when the dice just throw the best laid plans out of the window and do their own thing. It's why we use dice in the game. Though it can feel unfair at times :)

Definately it is the dice rolls that keeps the game exciting.

Oh boy I loved the new rescue mission rules (for most parts much better than old rescue mission rules)

Steeler Brothers on the up again after a couple of tough gangfights Loriel?

yeah hopefully. The first battle during takeover phase against buff dudes was real grudge match. And the second match against shrieking leporids was real uphill as I had too many fighters out of the battle. But that is exactly the reason why I love necromunda. Matches are far from even, but they are almost always extremely fun and unpredictable.

Right now during our campaign I am leading in total caused out of actions and total played games.

(incase you are not familiar) in the new necromunda dominion campaign there is five triumphs at the end of campaign

Dominator - Most territories ( i have 4 and two of the gangs have 5 atm)
Slaughterer - Most caused out of actions ( i have 33)
Creditor - Highest gang rating (highest in our campaign is 2285 atm)
Warmonger - Most games played (my 12 games)
Powerbroker - Highest reputation (my is 14 and the highest one is 15 atm)
