Making a battle report

Hey guys, I've been wanting to make a battle report for sometime now, but an epiphany stuck me a tad bit ago. I have no idea how to. Sure you tell a report of what happened in your battle, but I was clueless on things that you should and should not include, how to take key photos etc.
I have read great reports from here, and gotten inspiration and all, so thank you muchly for the beginning nudge in the back, but is there any key things I should know before I attempt one?

Id say use pictures/diagrams to show What was done in the movement phase, then focus your actual report on explaining why you did things (ie if you kept some DP back to prevent him jumping flyers behind you, say that, not just "i kept some DP back").
use the pictures to tell us what, and your words to tell us why.
