Inserting Images using Photobucket

#1 Post by Rogue Trader »

Inserting images took me a while to figure out, so I made a few notes...which someone may find useful.

Photobucket….http://www.photobucket.com/, it’s free, quick to setup and easy to use.

Once you have registered just upload (drag & drop) the photos/images etc. to your personnel library within Photobucket.

In Ulthuan.net
Use the Img button, to insert a photo/image within your post…this will insert the tags.
Next you need to insert the location and name of your image between the img tags…e.g [img}http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e43/y ... 731003.jpg[/img].

In Photobucket.
You can get all of this from the Direct link field (it’s the 2nd of 4 links below the image). Just copy the link from Photobucket and paste between tags in Ulthuan.net.
A single left click will select the complete link for that image…follow this up with a right click and select copy.

If you can’t see the Direct link… left click on your account name (top right of the screen…next to the help text) and select User Settings. Then click on the Albums tag and ensure that the Direct Link option box is ticked. Now return to your photos (View Library) and you should see the Direct Link.

If the image appears large in Uthuan.net, it can be resized in Photobucket (a width of 500 to 750 pixels seems about right).

The Direct Link is the actual web location where an image is stored. (It’s a combination of the web address for the server (in this case a Photobucket server), the folders on the server where your file is located and of course the file name).

PS. the ‘}‘ in the example above should be ’]’
