Just thought I'd share this with you guys and gal.
It looks pretty good, concept is fairly strong and it's written by Alessio Cavatore.
Some of the models/pieces would make great count as pieces too.
Especially the Earth Queen as a Branchwraith, and the Rooks loom good as elementals, the kings would make good scenic models/pieces.

Looks good. I always thought chess could have some interesting alterations.

At the end of the day, people still play chess.

I'll pretty much be playing normal chess with it.
Maybe playing the occasional game of LOKA, but I won't be holding my breath.

Oh yeah, of course. I think I'm going to be in a school chess tournament on Monday.EricJ wrote:At the end of the day, people still play chess.

I'd pledge, but my Reaper kickstarter + extras are in the mail.... That's 240 miniatures to paint, which is a bit of a mountain to get over!
I think I'll be buried under it for the next year or two

Re: Kickstarter for LOKA: a Fantasy Chess game.
Last weekend for it.
It's actually taken off rather well, with all the elements being unlocked in coloured resin and a double-sided board for 2 or 4 players.
And also a special Queen of the Fifth Element, designed after Leeloo from the movie.
A great thing for me is that I'll be able to get an actual model for Botherey (Bob the Grey, the friendly Hippo).
Most pieces/models stand around 5 or so cm tall, including their bases.
