What size base do the Eagles go on?

Got myself some of the hobbit eagles cause i like the sculpts more, came with the flying bases. So what size base do the great eagles really go on? 50mm square right?

I think the old ones come in 50x50, but when you play swecomp you play 40x40. So i made new ones

There isn't a definitive answer here. I have official GW eagle models on square 50 mm and 40 mm bases as well as one on a clear acrylic flight stand that is circular...

To try and give you some advice though, I have never heard anyone complain about an eagle on either a 50 mm or a 40 mm so pick whichever you have to hand and go with it.

new ones on 50mm
for casual play it isn't an issue
for tournament better check the TO.

Play for the advantage and stick them on 40's

Very true, but i think there are more advantages for being on a 40mm

-Can fit in smaller area
-Less attacks back in certain combats
-harder to hit with cannons
-easier to hide behind terrain

Obviously you knew all that, but will put the list up for newer players
