Apologies if this has been asked before but had a look and searched for it and couldn't find an answer.
Does the Banner of the World Dragon give a 2+ ward save against the Dwarven Heirloom that gives a breathweapon attack at strength 3 armour piercing? (I think its called the ring of Thori?).
I think the wording in the Dwarven book is that it gives the wearer a breathweapon. So my opponent argued it gives him a weapon which is then a shooting attack (with a template weapon so I didnt even get the Lion Cloak save bonus). I think you can argue its clearly a burst of fire from a magic ring, so its a magical attack...
At any rate, it was a friendly game so we played I didnt get the save and I promptly lost 13 White Lions to a 35 point magic item.
Ouch. (I got my a*** handed to me on a plate. I hate those Dwarves and to be fair I dont think even with the ward save it would have changed the outcome much!)

In the dwarf book it states that these items count as magic weapons for all intents and purposes. In the BRB FAQ it states that all attacks made by magic weapons are magical ergo you get to use BotWD.

Hadn't realised there was a catch all in the book to clear that one up. Cheers, much appreciated!

Here's the quote, pp.9 of the FAQ:
Q: What are ‘magical attacks’? (p68)
A: All attacks made by spells and magic items are considered
to be magical attacks, as are all attacks that are specifically
noted as being magical attacks. Shots fired from magical
items are also considered to be magical attacks, unless their
description specifically states otherwise. Hits inflicted by rolls
on the Miscast table are treated as magical attacks.
