Can a Glade Lord join a unit of Wardancers?
Can a Glade Lord join a unit of Wardancers?
I don't have the rulebook with me, is a Wood Elf character allowed to join a unit of Wardancers since they don't count as scouts, or are characters totally forbidden from joining a skirmishing unit? Thanks in advance.

Scout and skirmish are two different rules (though they often go hand in hand for most units).
A character can deploy in a unit of scouts, as long as that unit deployed normally (electing not to ise their scout rule).
As for skirmishing, when a character on foot joins a unit of skirmishers, the entire unit will have the skirmish special rule. I believe lone infantry characters on foot also have the skirmish special rule by default, though I can't remember for certain.

First part is true, but last part isn't (or if it is, then I need a reference to page number ). For some very very strange reason lone character / model isn't considered skirmisher. It is pretty odd that if they band up in skirmishing unit they protection against BS based ranged attacks (-1 to hit for enemies) and can fire after march....Nicene wrote: As for skirmishing, when a character on foot joins a unit of skirmishers, the entire unit will have the skirmish special rule. Lone characters don't have the skirmish rule, but the skirmish rule carries over to any characters joining the unit (I believe this can be found in the BRB under the skirmish rules). I'm not sure how it works with a lone shadow warrior. I know lone Eagle's don't have skirmish, while groups of them do, but I think thats because of the rules regarding flying units.

A lone survivor from a unit of shadow warriors does have the skirmish rule and shoud benefit from the -1 to hit from shooting
