Harmonic convergence. Re-rolls for BS shooting as well?

I was wondering whether Harmonic convergence also gives you re-rolls on 1's when shooting to hit and wound?

I don't see any reason why not and I have always played it as such. It should actually work for magic missiles / direct damage spells also.

Okay, that was also the way I thought of it. The only reason I started to doubt this, is the fact that on other spells it is usually stated explicit that it both counts for shooting and close combat.

Interesting point about magic missiles and direct damage spells. Never thought about that. So if you cast Harmonic convergence on a unit with you lvl. 4 AM and if he is casting, lets say, a thunderbolt you are actually allowed to re-roll to wound on 1's. That's pretty great, I would say:).

I can never understand the confusion regarding this.

The spell specifically states "the target rerolls ALL to hit, to wound and armour save rolls of a 1"

All means all, which includes combat, shooting and magic.

It has always been, even if the reroll on the spells hadn't applied.
