New to HE and WHFB after a six year hiatus

#1 Post by Pensfan »

Hey everyone!

I used to play WHFB back in 6th edition, mostly played DE and Dwarfs, and I just got back into it again. I traded some other figs and picked up a HE lot that I am excited to get together and start playing. Here is what I have...

1-dragon with hero mounted
10-ellryian reavers
5-dragon princes with command
5-dragon princes with command
8-silver helms with command
8-silver helms with command
2-heros on horse
1-mage on horse
2-walking mages
2-lion/horse chariots box sets
1-bolt thrower
15-spearmen turned into seaguard
16-spearmen
28-archers
10-swordmasters with command
1-great eagle
1-battle standard bearer

So.... what is a good place to start with this lot of plastic and metal??

Thanks!

Welcome back!

Well, it looks like a great start to your army. Hope you got a good deal :D I think the things that stick out to me are that you may need to add another chunk of spears/sea guard as it seems we will be fielding more core in 8th edition. Also I don't see Phoenix Guard or White Lions in the list. Those units will be really great this time around so you may take a look at those.

With what you have it looks like you could focus on speed. With the dragon princes and chariots flying around, you just need a block to be able to stick a unit so they can charge in support. I personally like Lion Chariots but making the chariots the Tiranoc version is great for the points spent.
Battle Standard Bearer. Don't leave home without it.
