Archers and Command?

#1 Post by eron12 »

Do you guys take command with archers? The starting guide didn't mention them. I presume that was because most command benifits close combat and most of the time if archers get into close combat they are dead anyway.

Am I wrong in this? Is Command worth it?

command is uselesss for archers. don't bother taking them because it's a waste of points.

The only command worth taking is a musician, and only then if you have 5 spare points. Champion - 10 points that you could put into, say, gem of courage or talisman of loec. I know which I'd rather have. Standard is just extra victory points for your opponent.

So, no. Strangely enough, I actually prefer the look of the unit without command. Maybe I@ve just got used to it.

I run full command on my Archers because I only had seven Archer models! I do like the look of FC on all my units that can take it though.

Tactically it is inefficient. It can make a difference if say you're in two ranks on a hill, may help you bounce light stuff. The risks outweigh the benefits though.

No; Musician is a tactical decision, so in larger games it probably has more utility.
