AM on eagle with Bow of the seafarer ?

#1 Post by Lord Aenarion »

Anyone ever tried this ? I want to try it out. I'm planning on having a lv2 mage with SoS, picking the second sign of amul spell. If I manage to cast it, the bow will in most cases hit on 4+, and with a reroll, it will hit three out of four times :)

Waste of points imo.

The bow is expensive, and wasted on Bs4, even with the re-roll (if you get it). Plus, an AM should have his magic allowance spent on items which make him better at magic.

Plus he'd just get shot.

altho the "items that helps him in magic" is usually just silver wand wich he can take ;) It would probably be über fun to play a Archmage with Seafearer bow IF he doesnt get shot down.

I havent tried though ;)

That's why he's on the turkey.

I was thinking of equiping him with either Silver wand and a DS or the Loremasters cloak. If he's on an eagle, and you're good at placing him out of sight of enemy shooters, I believe he han do some serious damage against many armies. WoC in particular. Flank shot on his knights with the BOTS ? :)

I've tried an Archmage equiped with the bow of the seafarer on a great eagle at several battles. The conclusion I came to was that apart from large targets (and even then it is not that good) you will fire maybe three times per battle and even those times you will need a 4+ at best in order to hit. So in the end it is not a very effective combo.

60 points better spent in either scrolls, powerstones or the ring of fury.
