I had a decent game against the new Beastmen

So, what do you think about them?

No one actually underrates Spears with 3 ranks, WS4 and ASF, especially against T3, low armoured opposition; the question just is, do we use more than the minimum?

I rate them at the moment but of course that could change after I get spanked by them a few times! They seem very balanced but I think panic could be there undoing as they don’t have a ignore lesser panic type of rule such as the Orcs which would really benefit them. The 5D6 S1 magic missile default spell is interesting and can bring the hurt on T3 troops.

The Cygor is a very interesting choice even though expensive the idea of having a stone thrower and a magic disrupter will certainly force opponents to come across the battlefield to get rid of it.

I’ll re-phrase that then, Spearelves aren’t underrated, they just aren’t taken that often. I’m contemplating taking two units in my Archmage list to see what I can work out with them. 

20 Phoenix Guard - Full Command, Gem of Courage, Banner of Sorcery
14 White Lions - Full Command, Standard of Balance
5 Dragon Princes - St Mu, Lion Standard
Repeater Bolt Thrower
Great Eagle

Exactly 1500 points, mostly immune to Fear & Terror, strong anvil, couple of hammers, RBT for big gribblies and an Eagle to mess with their heads

So I attended a tournament on the weekend and out of 7 games I ended up fighting the wood elves 3 times and got smashed every single time. Other than that I had a 20-0 win over the OK, 11-9 win to Dark Elves, 17-3 Loss to Lizardmen and a 17-3 Win against Vampire Counts. In regards to my list my noble didn’t really do a whole thing and to think about it neither did the spear block. I’m thinking of running the noble with the star lance and enchanted shield as a bit of a chariot killer and character hunter but I have to do another list tonight for an upcoming 1500 point tournament on April 10.

Tournament was a lot of fun and I’d never played most of the armies I was against so it was a great experience.
