I would do a poll, but my internet-fu is poor, and i don't know how to reset it each month, and it isn't worth making a post just for that. The vote for ogres is however noted.

the problem with ogres is leaving them with enough on the board that the player will play you again.

I like the Empire suggestion. There's a lot to cover there since they have so many options. As a high elf player I would like to say that I have pistolier envy, I would trade reavers for those guys any day.

They are sweet, I love my pistoliers. But remember you need to get close to fire, and if your volley fails... Well, I just tell that this happened when my pistolers planned to panic a unit of heavy wolfriders with a character. Rolled like crap. Made stand and shoot since them wolfriders are fast and rolled more crap.

I love my pistoliers, but I can think many ways in which the Reavers outpreform them. Range comes to mind, and Reavers would be the perfect counter to Pistoliers. They are faster, they got spears and will hit harder in CC, and their bows will enable outside the pistoliers range, having a chance of panicking the ld7 pistoliers early on.

The pistols are what makes the pistoliers special, and the pistols are what limits them. They are not good in hand to hand against anything but light opposition but they need to get close to use their best asset.

I'm all for Empire. Two of my very good friends play them but I've yet to play against certain list archetypes (Grandmaster, Balthazar PD list, and a few others).
I would definitely like to hold off on Skaven for at least another month or two since they are so new.

How much did the nerfing of pistols in CC hurt Pistoliers?

There seem to be quite a few "how do i beat skaven" posts about, plus the book has been about a few months so people are getting the hang of it. I'm thinking we do skaven. Any other suggestions?

Hello I'm new here so sorry if I am not meant to post here
Tactics on dealing with WoC would be really quite useful as one of my best friends plays them and I need to learn some sneaky tips for beating him once in a while :D

You can post wherever you like!

Maybe geo will put Warriors up for next month.

Very briefly the Warriors and Chosen are really hard but are M4 so can usually be avoided if you play well. Little shooting means they tend to rely on the magic, especially Infernal Gateway, so neutralising this is key. A Star Dragon will give them a lot of grief.

I second lore of metal but watch out for their spell pandemonioum which makes you miscast on any double, with infernal puppet its not fun!

Fear chaos knights, they can take a charge from DPs and still win!

Thanks for the suggestions, we are only playing small lists at the moment (1250 points) as part of a campaign (Border Princes). I did take Lore of Metal in our game yesterday and successfully wiped out a unit of chaos knights with Spirit of the Forge :D My favourite game moment so far!
Although I did lose in the end it was very close (he got a minor victory but did have 100 more points than me to start with from a supporting banner in the campaign) and definitely my best performance so far :D
