Still making progress. 1 crew is done, the other 3 are close. Made some progress on the base too.

Sadly the goblins have been largely neglected this week.

Maybe they weren't close. I spent 3 hours on the wizard tonight and she's not done yet. I want to get these done so I can get back to gobbos.

Sounds familiar. It always takes me longer then expected to actually finish a model from the moment I think "well, I'm almost done". The devil is in the details for me.

Just the base left the the chariot, and it's nearly done.

In the mean time I've finished this off.

I'm kind of proud of this one. I think if you click the images it'll take you to a folder where you can see more pictures. If not let me know and I'll try to figure it out.

"She?" I thought to myself but the commander is different too isn't he? I've got the mohican version of that mage but I'd forgotten this hooded gal existed! Great job with some nice touches like their furry friend. I'm trying to work little details like that into my O&G's.

Paymaster Shannar? Nice bold colours.

Ja, the only crew that's the same is the driver. The crossbow and the giant quiver don't really go together, but it still looks ok. IF i decide I need to make a 3rd one I'll have to do a head swap on the driver. I almost put that mohawk one in this chariot, but she's going with my sea elves (coming soonish, if I get these goblins done). If memory serves there is a 3rd variant as well.

The blue guy is an Arabian Merchant from the Mordheim range. We don't usually allow him in our campaign, but we've had a new player join and I figured it would be a good way to let her catch up to the rest of us a bit faster.

That is one impressive chariot. Definitely looks more threatening then a regular Tiranoc chariot... I really like the mage model in it.

Too strong?

As a side rules question on Mordheim. What's the point of a models starting experience?

Ja, the biggest issue is that as long as he's not taken out of action he pays for himself, with a good chance of extra profit as well.

As to the starting experience it prevents those characters from getting strong to quickly, advances are more spread out as you gain more experience. And it serves as a cap in the event you play enough games to fill the sheet.

The cool part is that if everything goes well for your youngbloods they'll eventually be the strongest characters in your band.

I quite like the chariot, what model is it? I had already completely forgotten that the Tiranoc Chariots could get extra steeds back in the day (sadly, while very cool visually, I never found them worth the points really. Poor design by GW)

These are Elven attack chariots. From before the "extra horses" days. Though I did often take the extra horses if I knew I'd be faceing a shooty army. Nothing worse than a chariot that can't move.

Wait, horses could be shot from chariots? What edition was this, I can't remember anything like it from the 6th or even 5th (admittedly, I didn't really play in the 5th as much, being a wee lad at the time)

4th still had it for sure, and I'm 95% sure 5th did as well. It was gone in 6th.

It was my elves favorite way of dealing with Grom. I had Wood Elf scouts and waywatchers as allies just for that purpose.

I could see it happening. I really like painting these. I hated doing my lion chariot, but honestly I wouldn't mind working on another of these right now.

I thought I was going to have to on my first one, but I was able to just do a lot of bending instead. Nice soft metal makes it easy. Still a little filling on each side, but nothing compared to what I just did on stormwing

Heavy metal wings in particular I find a world of hurt.

Pinning with a small ball of greenstuff between the parts works decently in my experience. It does require removing some excess greenstuff after everything has dried (because you always use too much...). But it sticks together all right. Just makes sure you don't glue your fingers to the wings. Which somehow always almost happens to me when working with superglue...

I've been slacking a bit. (I think I've earned it, maybe?). But hopefully by the end of the week there will be a bunch more hooded goblins finished.

That is very helpful indeed, painting models where you hate or are even just kinda "meh" about the sculpts is difficult. Looking forwards to the miserable green menaces!

I drew the line at twenty, though that was to a fair extent because they weren't cheap on Ebay!

Even the monopose plastics are more than I want to pay. I was really hopping I could fill in my spear units for cheap with those as the back ranks.
