Blood Aelfs

Howdy.

I'm thinking about painting my elves (high, wood, and dark) as Blood Elves from World of Warcraft. Has anyone seen this done before or have any ideas?

Lots of red outlined in gold with some fel-green eyes and spell effects.
Some Blood red and some green gems.
Black or dark purple robes.
Phoenixes everywhere.


I've seen some poor quality photos of Wood Elves painted like Night Elves but not much for Blood Elves.

Interesting idea. The primarily red High Elf armies I've seen haven't tended to use green which is odd because the two colours usually go well. Same with Dark Elves now I think of it. I once painted a Dark Eldar army in purple, gold and green, perhaps red would have been better.

Love the conversions there. Thanks for the link. Looks good, the colors are really vibrant on your models- something I have trouble doing. Do you use washes and highlight back up?

I'll probably try to incorporate black more (on the under robes and 'cloth' parts for warriors). I might let the scale/chain armor be silver, too.. not sure yet. I have a few test models i'm going to paint up and i'll post them here when I get around to it
