Could you provide us some photos comparing them with regular high elves?

Galharen, here a requested comparision. This foto was done some months ago.

Image

The Banner bearer was crushed, at least all parts that were sculpted in super sculpey. Old Magic Sculp's as hard as brick. And the Top of the helmet of the sea guard captain suffered heavily, so I had to resculpt that one. Still not happy with that, but oh well...

This weekend I'm probably gonna be able to provide some good photos of that sea guard on top of a base. As he is currently on of the few guys not beeing mounted on top of a piece of cork, this will also be a good way of comparing sizes.

Also a big thank you to all out there, inspiring me, sharing your work with others and motivating each other to continue sculpting and painting, regardless of other commitments like kids, work, or bodybuilding...

Your work is amazing. I agree with you, 6th ed. artwork was the best ever. I wish I had the talent and skills to bring my models to that level, like you are doing.

I'm really sorry about the crash and I wish to get back on track soon: there a great numbers of your fans here, waiting for updates.

I really like what you did so far. Most of GW infantry models are really missing dynamic. They did some improvement though, but your swordmasters are simply outstanding. Looking forward to see further progress.

I promised updates, but the progress is still very slow...

You can see my almost finished sculpt of a SM Hero/Champ. I decided to brake here with the dynamics of the other SMs. Well, still doubting that decision, but we'll see, how the unit turns out...

Next we have an actual size comparision and my Colour scheme VIP, which i somehow lost myself in a little :P

Please tell me, what you would do otherwise, what disturbs you and please don't hold back on the negat... ehm, "constructive" critics...

Love that SM champ! Have you already decided to cast them later?

Damn it, I almost unsubscribed! That bladelord is a boss, and that Sea Guard is a good deal taller than his brother.
That tower shield is properly big hey.
I really love how pale he is, really captures the inhuman beauty I think.

That hero is amazing! (I miss Eltharion the blind too, so much cooler than the Grim version)

The running swordmaster needs some flappy cloth, IMO. (High Elves = robes, no?)
Not a skirt, that would hide the 'action legs', more like a long raincoat type of thing.

The paint on that Seaguard is incredible, simply incredible.
(That musician still needs some work, though :P)

Do you plan to stick to that level of quality for the entire army?
If so: Respect, dude! (if not, still Respect, but slightly less)

I guess I'm going for the big respects... :-D Jokes aside, The standart for the whole army shouldn't be less than the LSG. It'll just take about forever to finish... The only problem I see here is that I should be carefull with the amount of details, e.g. I can't provide a whole unit with these shields, it would look too chaotic imo.

That musician from the (3rd? 4th?) Edition is there to demonstrate the increasing size of our high elves with each edition... I do feel somehow futuristic with my approach... :-D

The issue with the flapping clothes is I fear that the consistency with the usual skirts would be somehow disturbed. But I too want to try that out! Raincoats for everyone!

Didn't get that thing about subscribing... :?:
The Size is about the same as Sigvald. So I guess, it's still somehow acceptable on a battlefield...

Btw, his brother gets disected right now as well, growth enhacing surgery... Still want to try out a bright cristal blue color scheme and a dark greenish one.
Galharen wrote:Love that SM champ! Have you already decided to cast them later?
Nope, as I used GW parts there won't be any casting. Aside from that, I enjoy converting stuff as much as I don't like anything involved in casting. It's just too much work imo...

That's a 4th edition musician.

Rams home the point about size because he's clearly bigger than my 3rd edition figs.!

While the second prototype's beeing painted, here a quick update of the showbase WIP. Some details and the swampy water are missing, but you can see where this one's going...

I never thought I'd be happy to be in Ulthuan

Good to see Arimata's inspiration spreading. These are absolute genius.

Disappointed to hear about the breakage and hope you find the energy to continue your project. If you don't have an artistic outlet in your line of work I really hope you persevere with this project, because your level of talent needs to be expressed...

Even your drawings are reminiscent of the great Jes Goodwin:

Thank you guys! Really appreciated.

While I got stuck lately with painting my first batch of Swordmasters I regained my Motivation and Inspiration to continue with my griffon. Even though I started working on him roughly 1,5 years ago, my progress isn't very far yet. I guess there is no other mini I resculpted more often than this one.
It started out as a simple conversion for the IoB Prince, then got more complicated, as I wasnt happy with how the legs turned out, then got completely sculpted anew, so this might actually be a figure I might cast, as it is 100% self sculpted (given the fact of course, it turns out halfway decent! )

What do you think about the pose? Does it look too much like a bull? Or does it resemble the most badass griffon out there in the mountains of the anulii? :D

P.S. The cracks in the surface are from letting supersculpey set for 4 months without baking it first. Learning new things every time!

That's a great start on the griffon! The neck looks quite powerful, so be sure that the you make the wings nice and chunky (unlike the GW one which is more light than heavy).
I don't doubt you'll make it great!!

edit: also, what is the putty you're using? :)

Slow but steady progress...

@NexS: The Putty you see here is indeed a 50/50 mix of SuperSculpey firm gray and Fimo classix beige. Apart from that I use selfhardening stuff like GS or GS mixed with milliput or magic sculpt for conversions with plastic parts, as they don't enjoy getting baked very much.

Something funky seems to be going on on the right side of its face (left pic). :?
The other side of the face is great, though. :D
That beastie is going to be amazing!

(Please, please, PLEASE! will you do a tutorial when you're making the wings? Please?)

These last few months it has been silent here. I've spent many hours on this little beast, but sadly not nearly as much as it requiered. Yesterday was my selfimposed deadline for me to finish it. But is it truly finished? Maybe I'll continue working ot it, maybe I'll take a pause and focus on finishing other stuff first. I guess, we'll see. As always, comments and expecially critics are most welcome!

Looks insanely good, but at the very least you ought to cover up those joints. It's to nice to have those so obviously visible.
