Oh come on. And that's exactly why Shadow Warriors are not my favorite warband by any measure. Just make sure that if you do get into CC it's because you choose to, not the other guy. The idea is to shoot up the guys I don't want to fight while running away from them.

Right. The only unfortunate part is that "the guys I don't want to fight" is almost everything. (For a campain anyway, if it's a one off then that changes everything. But mordheim as a one off gives up half the fun.)Elessehta of Yvresse wrote:The idea is to shoot up the guys I don't want to fight while running away from them.
They are a very good war band, and can be a lot of fun. But they are definatly not everyones cup of tea. And you may find some opponents being rather grumpy about them.

Re: In the Mists and Shadows of Yvresse.
I have no idea how the game is played, but the shadow warriors stat line isn't bad, the s3/t3 is a pain, but they aren't that bad. How good are everyone elses stats?

Re: In the Mists and Shadows of Yvresse.
It's more the price tag then the stats. It's very hard for shadiow warriors to replace losses, and fairly easy for the vast majority of other warbands. Whatever you do, get all your heros to start, and DO NOT loose one. You'll never catch up.Elessehta of Yvresse wrote:I have no idea how the game is played, but the shadow warriors stat line isn't bad, the s3/t3 is a pain, but they aren't that bad. One of the things that's fun (yet sometimes frusterating at the same time) is adding equipment to your models as you buy them new gear.
If I were to model a new warband now I'd probably use magnets in the arms to make weapon swaps easy. It's not such a big deal for shadow warriors though.

Yea, limited kit for these guys, shouldn't be too hard to add things here and there, if is get overly complicated, I'll just knock up another one ^_^

They looks great - much better than the original Mordheim shadow warriors (those are curiously ugly models for high elves)!

Re: In the Mists and Shadows of Yvresse.
Good lord but those were awful. I'm sure they were intended for the main HE range but got rejected. That's where a lot of the latter warbands came from (well ostlanders and averlanders anyway). I just use my 6e metals, no real need for much equipment modification on them after all.RE.Lee wrote:They looks great - much better than the original Mordheim shadow warriors (those are curiously ugly models for high elves)!

Have fun! It's one of my favorites. And it's not so bad when you get addicted. Even 10 warbands is cheaper and less painting then one army haha.Elessehta of Yvresse wrote:I'm hoping to get them base coated for this weekend, and get a learning game in at club ^_^
