Even understanding that he's the closest to your camera, and will therefore look bigger, he does look rather big. The seaguard that he's next to are already on the large side. I'm almost tempted to paint mine up and put him next to some of my 3rd edition stuff just for a laugh.

He is starting to look amazing. I love the clear, hard colours (not sure how else to explain it) and the overal look of him. He is a bit large though, especially with that base.

You could come up with some house rules for an elven giant... ;)

The fallout of the insane power level of the 5th edition HE book, followed by the over correction in the 6th edition book (with all the accompanying statements about what an elf "should be") still echoes.

That's sadly my experience as well, although we really only started playing for real in early 6th edition (as soon as the High Elf armybook came out). Any house rules I suggest are immediately shouted down

This, along with other reasons is why we switched over to Kings of War. Yes, I'm still shilling that :P

Hey guys, long time without painting! I just started back this month and found out i cannot upload anymore pics through photobucket. The question is, anyone knows a free picture host site which i could use to continue sharing pictures?

For the moment im starting slowly with some snotlings (had a really hard time with'em) and now im paiting back skellies. Hopefully i got most of technique back once the skeleton spearmen unit im halfway through is finished and i can go back to the seaguard.

I can tell 1 year without painting is too much and i really lost a lot of skills. I dont even dare to get close to my seaguard atm. I hope i can eventually get there because i really want to finish the hero i left half painted and then the rest of the minis in the unit! (i had 6 more to go).

Good to see you back. Fortunately your skills should come back fairly quickly.

For pictures I recommend (well, use anyway) Imgur

Welcome back!

Imgur is indeed a common one. I personally use microsoft OneDrive, which is pretty decent as well (and I use it for a lot of other stuff, so I might as well). I'm guessing Google drive will also work, but I haven't tried that myself.

Right now I'm doing it this way that I'm posting most of the new stuff on my blog and then I use the URL link to share the pics on several forums.

I'm really happy that you are back! I know the struggle after one year break, but hey, it comes back fast:)

Hahahaha good one  . 6 months break really only took a couple of weeks to be back, but over a year is not so simple really.. No father should bury his own son. Anyway im positive ill get back there.

yessss i managed to upload from onedrive thanks Prince!

So for the basing im going this time with stirland battlemire lights on the mud by zandri dust and then a wash of reikland flesh that is slightly glossy. Finally i do gloss varnish on the ground trying to simulate wet mud. The sides of the base eventhough there appears with xv-88 will be dryad bark. Finally (when i finally can travel back to spain because im stuck in holland due to coronavirus) i will add drygrass tufts and some battle debris like rusty broken armour pieces, weapons..

EDIT: finished another guy.

He's great Mireadur, I like these better than in the earlier stages. I feel the unit is starting to look really good.

Great looking skellies, the shield variation is a nice touch.

i wanted them to look like a band of warriors from different clans joining up for the battle rather than like a regiment of a professional army each of them with the same uniform, thus making his own shield for each one.

Thanks for the comments, tomorrow should be finished one more. Its another model from the small warband GW released not so long ago, deathrattle sepulchral guard is called nowadays. The models are amazing frankly.

You're welcome :)

He looks pretty good. Maybe just below some of your previous work. But I really like him. And the unit is just great. Each model is very individual but it still belongs with the unit. Very nice.

I have seen your work - including some of what is still visible from far older posts in this thread - and I have to say I am completely humbled by your work.
I thought my stuff is fairly good, but it pales compared to yours. Your miniatures are really top notch.

PS: For once the true meaning of the word "humbled" is used, as opposed to "I am so humbled for having won two Oscar prizes tonight".

That's the lure of the dark side, with all these skeletons you're painting. Don't give in! come back to the light. There's still a chance to save yourself... ;)

I love the model. The painting is great as always. But the best thing about him is his pose. He looks very dynamic (I was going to say alive, but then thought "skeleton..."). He's just great.

Lovely mini - didn't realise GW had released new skellies - made spectacular by your painting. Love the colours (those shields!), the rusty metals, and the contrast on the bone. In my experience white with black shading can be difficult to do without looking chalky or dirty, but I think you've done really well with it.

Ahh a magnificent horde of skellies!

Really love that unit, very characterful. The variance in the shields really breaks it up. Great work as usual!

Agreed. I love the unit. So much character in there. A great shambling horde. You should do commission painting ;)
