Hi guys;)

I've just came back from the master-class tournament in Petershagen (Germany), which was my first ever foreign tournament. Great event, 60 players, members of the germany ETC team were playing too so it was a great pleasure to meet them;)

I did quite ok there and in the end I finished as 8th, which was a nice surprise;))
I've already written a report, but it's in Polish, it will take some time to write it again in English, but when I do it, I will share it with you in my army blog in proper thema;)

Full results you can see here:

Results

As you can see there, I also won a "Best painted army" award, which was awesome and I'm mega proud of it;))
Here you can see which list I fielded and played with:

Image

I am happy that I can eventually field a fully painted 2400 points list with different variants.

hehe I'll echo that theme, no surprise you won best painted with your army mate. Congrats!

8th place also very respectable!

The colour scheme looks really striking when you see your army together like that and the bases really set them off. =D>

Thank you guys for your kind words, this award has a special meaning, as it is my first "trophy" which I got not in Poland:)
It also motivates to push further. Thats why I want to finish that dragon rider soon (didn't have time to paint at all so far) and then eventually I will try to challange phoenix guard unit:))

Love the lance pennant and freehand as well as glowing blue runes! I wonder if it is the fault of the photo but silver armor looks flat in comparison to what you have done with other elements.

Great work anyway! =D>

Yeah, silver looks flat on that photos, it's already dark outside and with my small table light I could not take a proper photos. Sure it might be shaded deeper, but I didn't have a time to pay even more attention to such details. I used turquoise and black paints to make shadows but it's not visible there

I'm planning to start doing my dragon guards (phoenix guards), as I've already airbrush and proper paints, but I'm still not sure if I want to take this challenge and maybe I will switch to painting a new mage or another hero :D

I've seen recently on our very forum a lot of beautifuly painted shadow warriors' units, I need to consider taking them in my list, as I'd love to paint some. 7 seems to be a great number, with a champion which could be a eye-catching model, styled as alith anar or something.

Another beautifully painted model mate, looks excellent. Once again you standard of freehand painting on banners just amazes me!

How long do you think it took you to do the freehand on that banner? I'm curious if its just that you spend an eternity on those sort of details, or whether you actually manage it reasonably quickly?

I'd love to see you paint some Shadow Warriors. Great models so with your skills it would be great to see!

I turned on star wars episode III and started painting the banner freehand and details then. When I finished them Anakin was already wearing the darth Vader suit :D so if you watched the movie you can approximately say how long did it take me. It is not really complicated, especially glowing runes, which I find pretty cool as an additional detail and you need 10min to paint a few of them.

I think the spectral dragon on the banner is the most awesome freehand I've ever seen. Amazing. =D>

Hi Galharen,

you have a fantastic looking army. It looks nice up front, but it is colourful enough to make an impression from afar. I guess you´ll win a lot of best painted trophies! And I hope to see your army in Hamburg in three weeks. :D

Cheers

I would love to see your take on Shadow Warriors so if you haven't decided yet I would try to convince you to paint them as your next project! :)

Thanks! I long to see something new from you.
And about torso - as it was already mentioned on the previous page, it's a vampire dragon lord torso.

Thanks Mireadur!;)

I built yesterday a new model of my annoited on foot/champion of my dragon guard unit which I'm gonna paint now too.
He is at the top of my "to-paint" list as I want to try a color scheme for my further dragon guards. I wanted to use NMM but it would be a suicide imo :(
That black "thing" in his left hand is a flame, I'm gonna use there a simple source lighting effect.

And I managed eventually to buy 2 days ago Aenur model in very condition (I hate cleaning miniatures!). Considering that I"m gonna paint phoenix guard unit with a standard table-top quality, my ego needs something better, kind of new challenge, that's why I decided to buy and paint Aenur with high quality this time.
Firstly, I want to play a little bit with light and also with delicate freehands and honestly, I can't wait to start it!  I love this model, one of my the most favourite. Still wondering if I want to put him on scenic base or standard 20mm and using him from time to time as alith anar and shadow warrior champion :?: :?:

I took some pictures from different angles to see how the light puts natural shades and highlights and I'm gonna follow this with my painting.

Without a doubt one of my favorite models as well. Most of the original Mordheim rage is just fantastic. Some of the later specialist games stuff that was rejects from the warhammer range isn't as nice, but the early releases are full of fantastic stuff.

This one has tons of room of shading and highlighting, and the cloak should leave you plenty of space for some amazing freehand. I'm still considering adding something simple to mine. I don't want anything to fancy as only Marienburgers wear their good stuff to Mordheim.

1st test model of my new phoenix guards (well, dragon guards), which will also be used as my annoited on foot.
I used first time airbrush on this model to put the basic colors and highlight a little bit blue elements and I think it did its work quite ok (well, the quality of my airbrush is not that high...).
I like how it looks but base has to wait, I'm planning to put him on standard 20mm base but also to build a 40x40mm larger base which would be used as a filler with a space to put annoited upon it.
I would really like to hear what do you think about him;)

So, I eventually started with the phoenix guard unit :) They will be painted exactly the same as the annoited presented above.
Just a quick photo, nothing to show, but I just want to show that I'm still alive

Aenur is one of those models you always have lying about somewhere waiting for the moment when you feel your painting is up to it...
