I love the scale mail armor painted blue like that. Excellent use of color and it still has a very metallic look. Job well done.

Great idea with Dp's torsos and heads! They look much better than the regular ones. Do you use airbrush for the base color? And is it an assembly line with legs or do you paint them one by one?

Looking forward to seeing finished unit!

Cheers!

Yes, I have a simple airbrush which I'm still learning how to use it. So far for base colors it's enough, I'm gonna put some light from above and then highlight everything traditionally.

I'm painting all at the same time to do it faster than usual. I painted Annoited/filler as a test model to check how the colors work and now I know what where etc. :)
But the final pose is not yet figured out, I will try to match bases to legs and torsos so that I can put them side by side in unit;)

Looks great!
But... how come every base has water on it... looks somewhat un-natural

Hi,

Well, they are taking me too much time already, but I paint only during the late evenings so sometimes I'm just to tired to look at my brushes.
Nevertheless, here is some wip shot of my dragon guards, I'm almost there, gems, reds in general, final touches with metallics, all of this is still in front of me but it should go fast. I can't wait to see that unit built together with tray on the battlefield:D

Those conversions look awesome!! I always love watching your work and love it even more when it's Caledorian :)
Bring me my bow of burning gold, bring me my arrows of desire, bring me my spear O' Clouds unfold, bring me my chariot of FIRE!

Check out my rather slow caledor themed painting log and my dragon project... also my faster moving nurgle themed Warriors of Chaos themed painting log

thanks a lot:)
I will do my best to finish them off this week, as next week I'm going for holidays, so there will be a painting-break

Well, I have again a phase when I want to buy some tomb kings, damn, I've always wanted to have that army, maybe for some small points games but still, I love the fluff of them :D

I would love to know how you do those cloaks... My elves will be getting a make over (going to go for reds, purples and blacks to fit the Nagarythe theme better) and I'd kill to know how you did that cloak transition.

Well, this time I used aerograph to be honest.
When I'm painting individual models I don't use aero as I prefer the classic brush painting however when I have 5+ models to be painted the same way, aerograph is a great solution!

Those cloaks are not yet finished, it's just the base layer and first highlight with kind of blood red. I will shade it and highlight it with the brush, as well as, freehands on the back and maybe some tiny thing at the front side.

In the photo above you can see 11 bodies. Painting 11 cloaks with aero was faster than painting 1 with brush, for me of course, there are some faster painters too :)

Very good! Silver looks better but I think you can still create something nicer with these areas (silver I mean). Back view please? :)

Very nice. I have to admit I was starting to wonder if you were going to finish these guys or if they would become one of those projects that never quite seem to get completed. I've not noticed you having any of those, but most of us do I'm sure.

Thank you Swordmaster, however, I know I did a painting-suicide, as the cloaks are not really finished, but I can't paint them for years, just want to move on with new things and the aero job looks ok for the table-top quality, so I leave it as it is;)
The standard bearer will follow shortly, he is almost finished too, just the flag is missing, I need to think about the freehand I want to paint there. I have some patriotic ideas, we will see :D

I totally understand. I am not complaining really. Your silver looks very good already, I just know your skills are far greater than that :) But as I said, I totally understand. If you paint the whole unit to such detail there might be the need to leave some things at the basic level. That does not mean bad either, because it is not like you are slapping the paint in these areas carelessly.

The entire unit looks awesome and that makes me want to start some new projects of mine too! To be honest, with 9th Age and KoW I started having new ideas, something I haven't experienced for quite some time!

Your painting is further inspiration so keep these pictures coming! :)

As to the banner and free hand I would vote against anything that is connected to "our world" :) First reason is purely on the color scheme based. If you are planning anything white-red then it does not fit to what you have used for your army. Second reason is my personal believe that such motives/symbols should really be left for historical miniatures.

Here you have an opportunity to provide some totally unique ideas, create the kingdom for your own! Use it! Don't limit your imagination! :)

Hello everybody,

Today I want to present you something new which is not an Elf:D
The first model to my small Tomb Kings of Khemri force which I'm gonna to build.
The Liche priest.
I don't know why, but I really like this model, it's very tiny so the paiting was really quick, just one evening to finish it and for me it is like a light-speed.
Please take in consideration that the tomb kings army will be painted with lower standard as my high elves, time matters sadly and I don't have enough time to paint parallel two armies with high quality.
But I will do my best to make them look ok;)

Ja, I'd say that looks "ok".

It drives me a bit nuts that as much as I'm improved over the last couple years my best work isn't quite up to the level you describe as "ok"

You know you can sleep less. Or at all! So that you fully identify with your new army :)

TK are indeed tempting army for modeling and painting purposes indeed! Or is it KoW Empire of Dust army raising?
