Character, great weapon, and Shadow Warrior advice.

#1 Post by Red_Lep »

I'm building a High Elf Sea Patrol list(theme, not SoC list) and I have conversions for everything except for my two foot nobles, Great weapons for my Veteran Sea Guard, and conversions for Shadow Warriors.

This was the insperation for my Veteran Sea Guard http://www.ulthuan.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26495 but I think I'll try and make it look alittle less Dark Elf-ish. Would DE Executioner Great Weapons work you think?

I'm completely stuck as far as my 2 foot characters(Prince, and BSB) and Shadow Warriors.

Any advice?

2 foot characters? - Halflings? I didn't know the Seaguard had Halflings in it

Speaking for myself I don't like using Dark Elf bits or figures for High Elves. Their look and equipment just plain doesn't fit for High Elves unless you want to do a lot of file work and ladle heaps of greenstuff onto them. An awful lot can be done with just the bits in the multipart HE regiment boxes with a little creative imagination.

funny :)

I just was looking around and found the the cloaks aren't attached to the torso like I thought, my bad

Do you think they would look alright attached to the regular spearmen torsos?

Honestly, I don't think DE Executioner blades would look right... especially if you're going for a not-Dark-Elfy look.

Ok, just thought they looked cool. Any advice on a good Great Weapon to use? And maybe where to get them?

That's a nice conversion. The only bugbear would be finding all the bits for a whole regiment.

That is a nice conversion, thanks.

But Si'anelle of Avelorn is right in that I need an entire unit with great weapons. 18 to be exact.

Thanks for all the replies!

How would the Elf Swordsmen from the LotR range look? They seem like they might be kinda small to be great weapons. Also, are they one piece like the Swordmasters or can I just use the arms?

Thanks again.

They are nice, but too small for your purpose. It's a shame really because if they were just that wee bit bigger they'd be used in High Elf armies everywhere.
They are one piece figures btw.

For the dwarfs, there was only this. Hammerson met Grombrindal’s gaze, and the White Dwarf nodded slowly. If it must be done, let it be done well. Whether they were dead or alive, that was the only way dwarfs knew how to do anything.

And Grombrindal said "10 from the back, yeah?"
