1500 pts HE siege defense

As a follow-up to a pitched 1500 pts battle vs. Empire (which was a win, massacre), I'm going to be fighting a 1500 vs 3000 pts defensive siege battle. Having never fought a siege battle, I'm looking for some advice on my choices.

My biggest fear is great cannons blowing a massive hole in my walls, followed up by steam tank charges.

Would like to include my MVP units from my last battle - being a noble BSB with reaver bow/ToL, and 14 FC white lions. We're playing no SCs except that I'm allowed to upgrade my WL champion to Korhil, since he cut down 2 enemy characters in 2 combat phases. Will Korhil be worthwhile?

Confronted with the possibly massive amount of artillery he can bring - I'm also wondering about my rare choice composition. Will I be in deep shit without eagles?

Characters focusing on magic defense, both casting 3-dice drain magic each phase, hopefully enough DD to deal with the bound spells and prayers. - sensible?

mage
lvl 2, annulian crystal

mage

Got some points to spare, more SM/WL? Any other critiscism or advice is more than welcome, and tailoring against empire is a must, I have no qualms about that :)

Korhil is my actual in game Champion. He has only ever died once, and he has slain the most vicious enemies to step before him, so in my oppinion, definately worth it.

What im thinking is your lacking some fast elements if he is gonna bring a lot of artillery which might be devestating to your forces, and your shooting/magic just probly wont cut it in going toe to toe with his.
Ive never faced empire so my assumptions may be unfounded.

Hope this is somewhat useful.

With my only objective being keeping him out of my courtyard, I was considering going entirely without cavalry and staying inside the walls. On the other hand, a DP regiment inside the courtyard, ready to push out any intruder might be worthwhile...

My deployment zone will most likely look somewhat like this.

O - Open Ground
W - Wall
T - Tower
C - Courtyard
G - Gate

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOTWWWGWWWTOOOOOOO
OOOOOOWCCCCCCCCCCCWOOOOOO
OOOOOTCCCCCCCCCCCCCTOOOOOO

Different standard terrain features randomly scattered across the oopen areas.

I think you've got way too many characters for 1500 points. You need more bodies, mate, even with walls.

I think at this level I'd go with just a Noble with a Reaver Bow, or a Mage and a Noble with the Radiant Gem or Ring of Fury. Certainly not more than two.

Seaguard are another definite for me in any kind of a siege game... and then I usually keep a block of elite troops in the courtyard to plug any holes in the walls or a broken gate. :3

Good points, especially about the seaguard - I can see their multitasking potential.

Here's an updated list... Hoping the many SM will turn the walls and gate into a real meatgrinder. However I'm worried about mortars and damage-spells - Was considering PG but I doubt they've got enough oomph.

dragon armour, great weapon, enchanted shield, reaver bow
(Now gave him general for ld9, though I now lost my bsb ability, still in doubt about this)
