2250 balanced tourney?

Hello all.
Ran this list last night against Lizards and did pretty well. Was wondering what you all thought about it. Will this hold up in a comped tourney scene?

Archmage - lvl4, steed, silver wand, dispel scroll
Mage - lvl2, dispel scroll, seerstaff
Noble - BSB, AoC, Guardian Pheonix, GW (with spears)
Noble - Steed, SoM, HoF, DA, Sh (with DPs)

15 Spears - Standard
10 Archers

15 PG - Mus, Standard - Banner of Scorcery
15 SM - Bladelord w/ Talisman of Loec
5 DP
5 Reavers - bow, spears
Lion Chariot

2xRBT
Eagle

Exactly 2250, 9-11 PD

Thoughts?

On the whole it looks great!

Noble - BSB, AoC, Guardian Pheonix, GW (with spears)

I'd drop one of these guys for more troops or maybe tool up the Archmage.

5 more bodies or Lion Standard I suggest.

Standard of Balance or Gem of Courage maybe?

Shooting is only just enough I reckon. Most bases covered though.

I could see dumping one of the nobles. The BSB didn't do much in the last game, but I won't make any decisions about him just yet.

What are your suggestions for tooling up the Archmage?

If I dump a noble, I could add another unit of archers to beef the shooting. I dunno.

It's hard to see past Ring of Fury and a second scroll. A bit cookie-cutter but efficient.

I really think those infantry blocks could use extra psych protection.

Ok, made some of the suggested changes. Pulled the BSB and spears from Reavers and spread the points to increase the Spearmen and add more command and banner love. I still feel like I'm light on shooting. Was contemplating replacing the Reavers for archers or RBT. I'd like another eagle too. Just thinking.

I think it's Ok.

I'd be putting Reaver Bow on the BSB but your guy is obviously useful. You could indeed drop the Reavers for an RBT, it's just a question of what you want to emphasise I reckon. You have three blocks and I guess you need stuff that 's going to help you make best use of them.

I debated fitting in the Reaver Bow as well. It would add another shooty element, which I need.

I just don't see how you get a decent AS out of the BSB when he has the bow. Dragon Armor, Ench Shield and he's maxed his magic allotment for a 3+ AS. With a GW he's another 25 points I'd have to squeeze out. Am I missing something?

Picked that up from Seredain of course, he is full of good ideas.

I think it's a brilliant build for a BSB. Shoots, fights and re-rolls. What more can you ask? He fits really well into an Archmage build.

Oh yeah, it really is a good build. Used him last night in two games against Lizards. He challenged and killed the Saurus Scar-vet in both games.

So now I'm juggling three different builds here. The troops are essentially the same, and only the heroes are swapped around.

1. Archmage - Mage (lvl2) - Noble on Steed
2. Archmage - Mage (lvl2) - BSB Noble (w/ reaver)
3. Archmage - BSB Noble - Noble on Steed

The first was a take off on my original build and worked ok. The second was last night's build with the BSB Noble which trumped the first. Finally, I'm consider the third option, mainly because my Noble on Steed is the best painted fig in my army! Thinking about pumping up the Archmage with Jewel of Dusk, and dumping the Banner of Sorcery (should help comp scoring). It's a much lighter magic list, but I'll get some extra points back for more troops (or another eagle).
