Hi,

Has anyone seen this site? LINK

This one guy has made some amazing 9th Edition books (NB. not T9A)...

I personally think these books have way more character, fun & balance than anything the T9A teams have come up with.

But I may be biased, as I think T9A has become stale in it's constant appeasement to tournament players.

I'd be interested in other people's opinions on these books, & whether people would use them.

Cheers,

Disco

Yup there's plenty of nice things there, especially since he tries to incorporate every unit ever made (all editions, Forge World). I steal some ideas from those but I still prefer my house ruled 8th ed.

I've abandoned the idea of playing 9th Age some time ago, for the reason you mention.

I've been a fan of his for ages. It's not a tournament game, but I like that. We really mostly play 3rd when we aren't playing Mordheim (though this weekend we played GorkaMorka for the first time in years. I could get into the converting/kit bashing for that game). But I do like to keep tabs on what he's doing. If you want "balanced" warhammer it's not for you. But if you want some guidelines to follow for a fun game, he's been doing a great job for a number of years now. The graphical layout is always pretty decent quality too, you can tell he cares.

I've seen them before, though I tend to forget about them. The books indeed look great. And they are what I'd wished T9A would be. Simple, easy to swap for regular WH, fixing the biggest imbalances and offering some support. I'm not too worried about balance, since I don't believe in WH as a tournament game (in the sense of a competitive sport, I totally see the point in getting together with a bunch of like-minded people to play WH). So this works great for me.

Bookmarked :)
