New announcement from GW ...

AoS Skirmish rules for fighting with warbands. Earn renown to increase the might of your warbands between games. All in an urban setting where the goal is to hunt for treasure.

Mordheim? Nah ... they renamed it to Shadespire.

Might be worth a look.

As a huge fan of mordheim I was really hoping this wouldn't happen.

After Blood Bowl I was hopeful they wouldn't go full retard here.

At least the Battle Mat looks better than the previous one. Might get it, even though its rather expensive and only 4x4'.

If Necromun... Shadow War Armageddon is anything to go buy it will basically be Mordheim with a few simplifications in equipment and options. So I expect this to be a decent game. But you might just as well play Mordheim instead of buying this.

Looks fun enough. The AoS rules could work really well in this type of setting. And it's actually the game I hoped they would release when they released AoS instead... And it's pretty well priced I think. Though it remains to be seen if you can play it without needing any of the other books (either the army books or the generals compendium).

Still, why they didn't simply call it Mordheim? I find myself really disliking the naming conventions they seem to be sticking with in AoS. It sort of feels like they decided to get a bad fantasy writer and ask him to come up with some horrible, cheesy names.

Like you've mentioned - if the cheapish Skirmish Book is all I need to play, I'll pick it up. If, like so many things these days, its only there to make me buy more stuff - its a pass.
