Hi All!

My name is Antonio, I'm Italian but I currently live in Paris, France.

I've played some boxed wargame (Axis & Allies, Battlelore) and some collectible miniature game (Dungeons & Dragons: Miniatures, World of Warcraft Miniatures) before, but I have never played Warhammer or similia (I guess I was scared by the need to paint).

After going back and forth about it for a while, I've finally decided to start Warhammer Fantasy with an High Elves army.
So far I've only had one game but I am really enjoying both the gaming and modeling aspects of it. Really looking forward to paint and play more!

Thanks a lot for this website. Full of useful info and competent people! I am really glad I found it!

Greetings,

I am a disgruntled wood elf player looking to jump on the high elf band-wagon. I have been lurking on these forums and have been astonished at the diverse and successful army lists people are using compared to the few and reletively unsuccessful ones available to the wood elves. For this reason I am planning on using the high elf rules for my wood elf/dark elf conversions. After all who are GW to tell my what a 'high elf' should look like. :)

Some of you may know me from Asrai.org, Warseer or Carpe Noctum. I am a maths student currently studying in London. I wrote a wood elf fandex on asrai.org that met with much critism. I love Roll Playing games and and currently writing a game system myself. I also practice a martial art no-one has heard of.

I'm here mostly for army list and tactical advise and will post an army list soon.

Greetings!
I'm Tom, call me cake, for no apparent reason.

I've played fantasy for literally as long as I can remember, I have an extensive amount of house rules that me and all my my mates play with as we are not fond of how powerful magic has become, no more guess range etc etc.
I've played Orcs, Skaven, Ogres, High Elves and Chaos. Currently I am still working on my Ogres, Elves and Chaos armies, although the army that takes 90% of all my warhammer time is definitely the High Elf one.

I'm a grumpy old(young) sod, and I constantly grumble about this and that that was changed with 8th edition, and I dislike most of the new additions to warhammer.. Such as Demigryph knights... I mean..... What the hell... "Demigryphs"?... Way to ruin it GW.

I've lived in a tonne of different countries thanks to my parents bouncing around a lot, and am currently living in Sweden until I can escape off to uni in Canada hopefully.

Oh.. Right. And I've been here for a couple of months I think it is.
Been neglecting the site for the past few weeks though, I shall fix this!

Hello, long time lurker (3+ years), first time poster here :) My real name is Bojan, and I live in Vancouver, BC.

I've broken down and picked up IoB after wanting to dip my toes into WHFB for a while, and I really like the High Elf army feel. I enjoy combined arms and skirmish-based troops and it looks like HE force can be built with enough tricks to suit my play style. I'm reading through rulebook and I've borrowed the army book, so I'll probably have a ton of dumb questions soon :) Painting comes first though!

There really are no such things as dumb questions if you are new to the game...I had been playing for 8 years before I knew some of things I know now....

Hi,

Jon here, aka “Straff”, 27 y.o., from Switzerland, Europe. I’m totally new to WH, which I recently discovered in a tabletop game shop.

After some readings on the net (and a few codex at the shop too ^^), I recently bought the Island of Blood set to get started.

So as I’ll probably be playing Elves a lot, you’ll see me bothering around quite often I guess ;)

Cheers,
Jon

Hi everyone, I'm Malerion
I've known the game for about 5 years, in which i've played more or less 12 games (I live in the middle of nowhere).
I play HE with a secondary VC army. Both are unpainted (shame on me, but I kinda fear making them uglier than before  )
I've lurked here for about six months now, and it's the gorgeous dice that convinced me of finally registering.

And... I'M BACK!!!!! Not really an introduction, as I've been here a little while, but I thought this would be the best place to post about my comeback. Anyway, I managed to convince my parents that the denizens of this site are not paedophilic, old men or pornsters.

P.S. While I was away, I converted to the Caledorian point of view, as you may have guessed from my new sig...

I don't mind being a dragon killer. As long as it isn't a sea dragon.

Hello,

I would like to take a moment to introduce my self. I am new to warhammer fantasy but I used to play 40k for roughly 14 years. I just got back from the 'Stan and a buddy let me have a pile o' High Elves so after searching I found this place and it seemed like the only logical thing was to start learning from those who know more than me.

Thanks

Welcome to Ulthuan, have fun, there is much to learn from here, but remember play games your own way and maybe you can find new things others haven't found.

Hello all,

I was directed here from The Warhammer Forum, where I was exploring WFB after having played Black Templar Space Marines in 40K since 3rd Edition. I've looked at a ton of models recently, and I like the look of High Elves, but I am not too familiar with the rules just yet. I have some 40K, Warmachine and Flames of War experience, and here's hoping I can pick up some WFB models shortly.

Hopefully I can learn a lot, I'm going to go look at that Star Dragon post as I really like the look of that Prince on a Dragon.

That's how everyone should get into the hobby, "ohh, I like the look of that!", welcome, the tactics and army lists sections will help you with the game, the painting and modelling section will help with the hobby stuff ^_^

Greetings all! I am Rhomdruil and Rhomdruil means me! I am a LONG time lurker not just here but on many forums. I run a gaming club in upstate New York near Fort Drum and we have a broad range of games we play, mostly focused on GW systems. I have always wanted to get my High Elves off the ground but must admit to struggling to find a decent spearman conversion that I can live with (or archers for that matter). I have finally decided to swallow the pill and dive in, ugly spearmen and all. I am not sure what I will contribute but I sincerely appreciate all that the regular posters provide. I look forward to a long and thought provoking journey along with you fellow members of our company.

Greetings from a land where the cows are concrete and the roundabouts not only have the vote but are in a majority.

I have been gaming for more years than I care to remember though with what I guess is a typical break until late 2009 when my youngest got me back into 40k, I came to my senses early 2010 and restarted the Fantasy game with O&G (currently far too many of them), and spent most of last year building my Bretonnians into what is now a nice usable army.

Last year my better half decided she wanted High Elves, So I started Rats.. I have now been given the Elves as well and have made a start. So I come to the land of the High Elves not so much through choice as through a desire not to see beautiful models left unpainted in a box.

I play a range of games, typically not small elite armies so this adventure will be very different for me, but my plans for a Skaven force this year are on hold due to finances, and I have enough High Elves to at least make a start.. so 2013 is the year of the Elf...

I will put up a painting thread as I have made a start, but in short my forces are currently five elves...

Other games & forces:

Warhammer
- Orcs & Goblins (~8,000 points, 3,000 painted)
- Bretonnia (~4,000 points, 3,500 painted)

40k
- Imperial Guard (infantry heavy, ~2,500 points, all painted)
- Marines (~1,500 painted, some very badly, covered in dust)

Kings of War
- Undead force building

Dystopian Wars
- Empire of the Blazing Sun Naval force

Flames of War
- Germans, lots of Germans, all three periods but focused on late war in Normandy

Hi there everyone,

First time poster but a long time lurker! My name is Ismael and I'm from The Canary Islands, Spain. I'm 23, managing a little hotel with my parents since I was 18 and my main hobbies are: Warhammer, PC, music, bodybuilding, box, running and beauty girls  .

Many of the guys here will know me as "cremosity", which is my universalbattle's account name  , I've been playing in the site for a couple of years but never found the chance to start an army in real life due to time issues. Now that I see myself able to dedicate time to Warhammer, I started my first project a month ago, of course, High Elves, what's special about it, is that I' m buying all the miniatures from 4th, 5th and 6th edition as I love the old metal models a lot!

The forum environment is great so I'm very glad to meet you all and definetely, you'll see me here often, hope you can understand my poor english, promise I always try my best  .

Cheers,

I.

Hey guys,

I should say hi officially.

Based in Denmark, originally from Germany.

Started with the 5th edition, collected both Lizards and Bretons played some, also in 6th. Then some time nothing due to school. Then my armies burned in a fire and were not replaced.

After some years I started collecting again and am up to about 2000pts half painted, this time half elves. Have been lurking around this board for about 2 years. I am looking forward to get the gaming part started again as well in the near feature.

I did some work on yalb if somebody knows that ;)

I will try to participate more active in the board now, even if I don't have any practical experience in 8th.... i read.... a lot.... ;)

Hope to meet some of you guys some time.

NHB

Gee, thanks Master :)

Finally! After like 4 weeks of meeting thursday nights for painting and a bunch of kids playing magic and board games I have my first FIRST game arranged on saturday.

I am thrilled...

I thought about asking for assistance here for the build, but I just want to get out there, like a newborn learning to swim, LOL

I will probably return with a BR and a need to be cuddled... -> Lizards... @ 2k

Hey all, I'm a newbie that has been snooping around for about five months. My cousin's husband got me into the game by splitting the island of blood box. I found the high elves to be the most interesting out of all the other armies. The painting tips have really helped. Thanks for all the awesome tips.

Hi there; my name's Rob, and while I'm a well-established 40K player, I'm looking to make my first foray into WHFB with High Elves. A friend (who also plays High Elves) gave me the WHFB Paint Set (with the Sea Guard) to spur me into playing, so I'm thinking about taking him up on his challenge. Besides picking up an IoB set (which I have yet to do), I have no idea where to go next... so this forum will be invaluable to me. Thanks for having me here!

Hello all!

My name is Michele (aka oasisrising). I have been interested Warhammer for about 10 years on and off. I am mostly interested in painting, and got back into it about a year ago. I have only been playing the game for a few months. In June 2012 I started posting youtube videos about building/painting/playing my high elves, and some wood elves too. I was pointed here by one of my viewers, and I would love to get to know the high elf community!

Here is my channel, check it out if you like :)
