So taralya had me tell my fluff for this list and I thought I'd update it here as well haha. The second list is more balance as my mind does run off in its on direction in the beginning stages of creating haha,

Standard of balance 45 pts

X 3 Tiranoc Chariots "Thunder Knights" - 255

3 eagles  150

Repeater bolt thrower

2503

Edit"..............

Well I versed a combined brettonian and tomb king army which just took so many turns for the worst, it was truly madness lol but I learnt a few things about the list and what I thought would really help and kinda sticking with the lore to the list changing events that happened. Sooo here's a combined fluffy story that integrates a vague battle report at the same time ( kinda like headshots report )

Lore

Calehir is a Caledorian Prince whose blood comes from an ancient house on his fathers side, and a powerful High magic blood line in Saphery from his mother.
The Arhain brothers are from a lesser house in Caledor who have come from a line of service and war, such sorrow has caused many through their history to practice the arts of death magic and has become a followed tradition for this particular house. The loss of so many close relatives has caused this house to be seen as an outsider to many Caledorian households and have often been speculated to have some ties to Nagarythe . These two brothers have served loyally under Calehir and have become trusted commanders who follow him into battle.

Calehir has been tasked in leading a purge against the growing Skaven threat near the port city of Copher in the old world. Using the city as a staging ground for finding the skaven source in the area. Calehir leads companies to the east and is slowly charting the outlying territory.

However, there has been a tragic turn of events . On his latest sweep, an unexpected enemy led an attack against the elven company. A powerful Tomb King with an army of undead skeleton minions and a host of chariots, had managed to reanimate a Brettonian force of knights ,bowmen and salvaged trebuchets to his will .

The overwhelming enemy was deadly, and with most of the elven battalion in the city, Calehirs company was severely outnumbered... But he met them in battle nonetheless . A refused flank tactic was used to keep the army together and concentrate on the left flank of the enemy while missile fire from his Lothern sea guard, archers and bolt throwers filled the sky with arrow shafts down the center. .. The battle ..had an ill favor and winds of magic became fickle and unbalanced. The casket of souls seemed to enhance the trajectory's of the massive rocks thrown by the trebuchets as it casts bolts of energy which would smash the Tiranoc chariots who thundered across the battlefield loosing arrows into the endless skeletons approaching. The mighty dragon princes led a mighty charge towards the chariot legions of the tomb king with
Daherais Arhain in the lead. To our dismay over three quarters of the dragons tail Calvary did not make it to the legions due to the mighty rocks and endless arrows of the enemy. With this, Calehirs mighty moon dragon also suffered two direct and mortal wounds from the great rock lobbers as he doused the undead Brettonian archers in deadly flame.
Despite the grim odds the Dragon princes continued their bold charge as seeing their noble princes mount fall from beneath him, gave the Calvary the courage of asuryan in order to reach their stranded prince.  Though grieved by his sudden loss Calehir's rage took him into a mad frenzy as he launched himself into the chariots legions towards his dragon prince Calvary. Together they all but destroyed the mighty legion only to see more undead continue their march onwards.
As Calehir reached Daherais, a great calamitous explosion of magical energy ravished the sea guard lines in a great ball of flame. Daherais sensing his brothers pain, met Calehir's eyes with his own and said nothing at all. With a mighty war cry he led the remaining dragon princes in a head long charge through units of undead brettonians and skeletons alike . With this act of heroism Calehir was able to order a full retreat and save the Arhain brother from certain death. Daherais took an arrow through the weak point near his shoulder plate joint and then to the fell blade of the tomb king himself. Yet not before he was able to drive his lance through the kings own shoulder tearing his arm clean off in a last act of defiance.

Though the elven company took heavy loses , they delt a crippling blow to the tomb kings vanguard and managed to save the city from a full on attack.
The battle took its toll on the prince and Arhain Brother, to which pushed them to dark thoughts of vengeance. Calehir cast aside his beliefs in the elven high magic teachings and rather had Elandrel teach him the arts of death magic. Together they studied and Elandrels grief over his brother brought the true nature of his blood line to light. His powers grew , pushed by Calehir's and his own wants for vengeance . Their hatred grew so much that Calehir became known as 'Thalui "The Dark Moon" Prince, and Elandrel became the true essence  of " The Black Handed Mage " . Elandrel now rivals many of the arch mages of Ulthuan and the warden of Copher bestowed a rare gift to the grieving Prince who now wished to undertake the eastern sweep once again and accomplish his given mission. This gift was a mighty griffon who Calehir named "Khaine" after the dreaded god himself.

My Caldorean Mage Knight has been having a great run out over the last few months.
Whether he chooses his trusty steed, Kevin, or his Awesome Star Dragon, Keith, he has taken on the foes of Ulthuan from Ogres to Deamons.

While flying around the battle field giving support where needed, causing terror checks where possible, he has been firing super-fireballs and blasting haloes in the enemies battle lines.

While mounted on Kevin he is more akin to rolling out with heavens. He, and his dragon prince escort, roll into battle with their awesome armour with the heavens blessing ensuring their opponents find it even harder to actually get a blow in contact.

Besides, the battle of Finuval Plain was more a minor skirmish anyway. A good enough summary would have been "Teclis and Malekith ran into each other. Teclis cast The Dwellers Below on Malekith with IF, and Malekith failed his Strength test." Not much more to it then that really.[/quote]

Elessehta is fighting today, only 1500 points though:
Elessehta, Great Weapon, Dragon Armour, Shield, Barded Elven Steed, Helm of Fortune, Silver Wand, Opal Amulet, Radiant Gem of Hoeth(Beasts).
He's facing an Empire list too but no Demigryph Knights though, just regular ones.

Would I be permitted to join this order? When I do use the Radiant Gem of Hoeth I almost always utilise the Lore of High Magic.

I request humbly request that you admit me to your wise"-ish" guild.

My 4 favorite builds.
Noble, BSB, RGoH (life), enchanted shield, mounted, dragon armor, lance
Put in DP. Take #0 spell and he has an effective 5+ ward save because he has a 2+ vs. fire.
1+ armor save
Cost: 182

Prince, RGoG(Death), Temakador's gauntlets, Foe bane, mounted, dragon armor, shield
Character killer. Take snipe spells and kill the general.
1+ armor save, 5+ wards (s 4+ attacks)
Anti monster
Cost: 292

Prince RGoH(metal), silver wand, blade of sea gold, enchanted shield, mounted, dragon armor
1+ armor save
take searing doom and what ever other one you role.
Anti armor.
Best used with savage beast
Cost:283

Prince, RGoH(death), silver wand, golden shield, talisman of protection, dragon armor, mounted, lance
Put in a unit of 5 DP with the wailing banner and go break units (flank/rear charge)
1+/6+
re-role all hits in CC
Try for doom and darkness/purple sun
Cost: 289
Cost (w/ DP): 489

I have other builds but they take to long to type. I bid the wise, benevolent guild of mage knights a good day.

More seriously, are all of the builds legal. Also would they stand a fighting chance.

Edit: Turns out that I can't count. 1+1+1+1=4, not 5

Enchanted Shield costs us 10 points so we can't take it, so build one is illegal.

So with magic items getting cut, will this be the end of the Mage Knight Guild, or will we get the rumoured Warrior Mage.
We could get a whole lot of new members soon!

We'll have to see the rules first, but with the Loremaster comming out my guess is that everybody and their grandmother will be a Mage Knight soon. How will you guys cope with the massive influx of new members?

The more the merrier? Or those of us who used the creative Radiant Gem build from the 6th edition can be all "We did it before it was mainstream"

I'm super excited for the lore master guy, he is going to rock some tms! I'll admit I'll be a little sad if he's the only mage knight option. I've been running RGem at tournaments and local club games for the last year and there was so many fun options to run him with. My favourite was definitely him as a beast mage mounted in a block of Dragon Princes! it meant I could get the Dragon Princes through protracted combats after the charge and with a Lvl 4 shadow mage in tow, most opponents wouldn't want to use dispell dice on it. Although my last fun build was a Lvl 1 life mage on a moon dragon, kicking ass, giving himself and the dragon regen and restoring wounds throughout the battle. I really hope they don't limit the available options by cutting down the magic item list too much. On a plus note, dragon mage is another favourite of mine, and him being viable rocks!
