Just a bit of nastalgia. It's interesting what is/isn't archived there.

I love the wayback machine :D It's great to see how the web has evolved over the years.

It must be said that the old Ulthuan site actually looks very decent for its age. Nothing too jarring. It would still work this day. Maybe upgrade the font and navigation and you've got a decent site.

I'd remembered it was fairly well done, but I'd forgotten how nice it really was. The army list builder was a pretty impressive touch for the time as well.

Haha, it's fun to think back on things like that. My kids don't believe me when I mention a time before the internet.

It's funny how big of thing the internet actually was. I remember going online for the first time, the idea of chatting with someone halfway across the world and this sea of information. Now I suppose the internet just is. It's so omnipresent that you forget about it.

I guess all generations have these experiences as new technologies become available. When my dad grew up he had to go to the store on the corner of his street to make a telephone call. Which feels completely alien to me. My mothers family was one of the first in her street to get a car. How did people entertain themselves without television? :)

True, my great grandma used to tell us about being the only family in town that had a radio.

Explaining internet cafes seems to be a bit of a mind bender, because things like 4g never existed, never mind no WiFi.

A dear friend of my family is 103 now and she used to tell me loads of stories about having to get a pony and trap from the train station to visit her family in the highlands.

I'm fascinated to learn what the future holds for us.

I remember finding this when we had a dial up modem that used the landline (remember AOL?), took ages to load but I was totally amazed by its existence.

Congrats!

I'm "only" at 11. Man, I've been here a long time. I'm getting old... ;)

Thank you!
Being married to a fellow nerd (not warhammer, although she likes the fluff... especially the war between Highelves and Darkelves, where she got some books) that tolerates the hobby and the insane amount of time, space and money it takes, is the best choice of my life!
