Death Poem for my Infinity Lieutenant

#1 Post by Malossar »

So Infinity, great game absolutely love the mechanics but I really enjoy the background. I play Japanese Sectorial (Japan's been conquered by China) and here are my Samurai's thoughts:

Though the road before is long and narrow
The way behind is full of sorrow
Our deaths call to us from current shame
But we carry on to restore our name

Our lives were forfeit in defeat
Now we withdraw and retreat
To strike down our enemy
With the dagger never seen

And when it’s over and tyrant overthrown
No victory feast will be known
Our bodies long for shallow holes
But we fight on to redeem our souls

Vengeance now instead of Sepuku
We arise the dreaded Koduku
Forsaken are we evermore
Until we meet ancestors on distant shores

Be gentle I'm really pretty poor at poetry but for the Paradiso Campaign we were required to have some background and a little bonus "why we fight" piece.

Ha I'd be happy if I could write a poem anywhere near that :D and i have always had a soft spot for samurai, trained in their martial arts for a number of years too, so you got some points there as well lol.

Don't know what infinity is but I really like the poem. Only Japanese death poems I've seen before are the ones on the loading screens for Total War: Shogun 2, but they're all haikus.
