Part 15
lol Tiralya im going to see how many of these "ye gadz" i can get out of you lol two so far ;)
-p.s. i love whitestars fluff for his version of dragons in the *8th edition and have  decided to help promote it! lol ...and incorporate it in my story heh heh heh :D. (time frost dragons to be exact )

The suns bright rays crested over the clouded skyline, as the tail of the storm broke amongst the mountains ahead. Their eagle guardians flew in an escort formation above the clouds, with the massive white dragon at its center.

Norein Delosir had never felt the wind at such a height...riding a chariot was one thing, but flying upon a massive dragon was surreal.
Anoras'se Cruen was seated behind her, and most likely marveling at the mysteries surrounding their new companion.
Her archmage had come to the conclusion that this dragon, who's name was Teraskonarr'Isa'Emerikk , was most likely one of the last TimeFrost dragons in the old world. Though what that meant, she was not exactly sure, as their departure from the cave had been rather swift.

Norein adjusted her new golden cuirass that the dragon had insisted she wear, as it would have been something her ancestor would have wanted. The gold silks were marvelous and the sleek spear was light, and imbued with an ancient magic.

It had taken little time for some of the eagles to find the massive white dragon once they had left the cove, and thankfully Anoras was able to communicate with them.
According to their report, the city of Copher was under siege by a massive army and would require all the help they could find.

Her grip tightened around the shaft of her new spear, and her heart fluttered with thoughts of battle.
Glimpses of the siege below could been seen through the periodic breaks in the clouds, soon they would join their kin, very soon.

A finger prodded the back of her head, which caused Norein to turn and see Anoras standing on the back of the dragon. Once the mage realized he had her attention, he raised his right hand holding his odd wand into the air, and shot a magical blue sphere of energy in the sky; which was lost to the heavens soon after.

He then lowered his arm and said.

"A present for our new princess, yessss a grand entrance it will be, you will know when to join us below.. wait for my signal!"

Princess? She questioned in her mind, as Anoras slowly back-stepped further and further along the massive white scales on Teraskonarr's back. A smile swept across the mages face, as he flung his arms out and let the wind catch his robes. Norein raised her arm out and tried to shout in protest, but it was too late, the blue mage jumped and let the wind take him.
Anoras soon became a diving blue flurry, which plummeted towards the earth with astounding speed and disappeared into the clouds.

What signal ? She thought to herself, as she tried to remember anything else the mage had said regarding it. Then it hit her, as her gaze froze on three massive balls of fire in the sky ahead, which became larger as they came closer.

The three wicked sisters...

* * * *

Dust filled Althran's mouth as he picked himself up off the ground, and tried to asses the situation. The remaining cavalry was in shambles with riderless horses running rampant into the city, as the massive blast had erupted in a green shockwave and decimated the elves at the gate.
Pieces of marble continued to fall from the sky, while moans and cries of pain came from all directions around the 'black prince'.

A measure of relief came when Althran realized Calehir, Ada and Elandrel were still alive, as they came closer upon their mounts. They all had left to retrieve their mounts shortly after the first wave was dispatched from the front gates.
Along side Calehirs mighty griffon, strode Elandrel's mystical white pegasus with the mage upon its back.

Good he thought, as he adjusted his helm and shouted.

"Get into the air! Find whatever unleashed that massive energy and destroy it! We cannot suffer another hit!"

His order was  acknowledged immediately and required no further explanation. Althran watched the trio take to the air and turned his attention to those around him. Many of the blue and gold armored swordmasters were nearby and awaiting his orders. While what was left of the cavalry that had not been crushed by massive slabs of marble, were dismounting and forming a makeshift battle-line.

Soon the enemy would be clambering through the hole and the city would be lost.

"Swordmasters on me! Sinolis arrange a battle line behind us, we cannot let them through!" Althran shouted and took off into a sprint towards the fallen blue peak across the gateway, with his deadly guardians close behind.

Althran strengthened his grip on his sword and shield as he could make out a mass of rats trying to clamber over the debris.

"For Ulthuan!" He screamed in a glorious battle roar, while the swordmasters fanned out into a massive line and readied their greatswords mid sprint.

The two forces met shortly past the blue roof, yet the smashing ruckus that would normally accompany two enemies charging each other, was not heard. It was replaced by the whirling wind from the massive swords that clove the rats left and right. The swordmasters were living up to their reputation with vermin bodies being left in their wake.

Althran smashed with his shield, and swung his sword in deadly arcs at the ugly rats with foul colored eyes, dirty rags and horribly crafted shields. They died in droves, but it did not seem to make a dent as the horde scrambled  over the debris towards them.

There is always glory for dying in battle, he thought to himself with a smile.

Haha sure sure Tiralya, I know Adalinusi is your favorite  .. out of the massive cast of characters running rampant in my story
I'm a big fan of George R.R. Martins game of thrones, where theres a bunch of small stories incorporated in a larger story and a colorful cast of characters. So I guess I tried giving it a shot :-s :-s

Haha no ones perfect ;) also I kinda wanted to hint towards the newer generation of elves being more open, as times are changing and how some may look else where for children since not many are being born; and when it comes to war, elves and humans die the same, so they know how short life can be. Just much harder to kill elves

Part 16

The clouds in the sky and the red stained battlements seemed to switch in sickening waves, as Dethadrin tried to regain his composure. Something had struck him in the back of the head, to which he had almost fallen from the ramparts. Thankfully the human Tywin, was close by and had braced the mage with a quick grab of his right arm.

The ringing in his ears was also irritating, as the blast had shook the wall with a deafening explosion.
Dethadrin finally straightened himself upright and looked in grief, as many of the elven defenders were put in a brief shock, that allowed the enemy to gain footholds on the wall.

"Tywin! We need to hold the walls and push them back !" Dethadrin shouted and stopped mid step, as his gaze was drawn to an odd funneling of the clouds above. Which were following a blue form that streaked towards the battle below. The funnel overtook the blue form before it hit the ground, and began to twist with devastating winds. Entire regiments were picked up into the air, as streaks of blue lightning flared out from the twister and into the enemy.

Elven horns responded in glorious defiance and filled his heart with new strength to erupt white flames along the battlements and aid the defenders; while Tywin began to take care of remaining siege towers nearby.

Despite their efforts, the enemy was gaining ground and creating small pockets of resistance along the walls, to which allowed more to come in from behind.

Dethadrin's frustration began to rise, yet was immediately subdued, as three massive balls of fire came crashing through the clouded skyline, in giant red tailed flames. They hit the enemy regiments in a perfect triangular formation with the twister at its center.
The dust and debris that came after the three massive impacts, covered the field and rose to even the enormous height of the walls, which clouded the defenders and attackers alike.

A brief silence came and was interrupted by sporadic steel on steel echoes of battle that could not be seen in the thick dust.
Dethadrin's cloak was snapped in a sudden gust of wind, to which removed the massive dust cloud as abruptly as it had come, and seemed to have originated by the massive twister. Yet something was different, Dethadrin soon realized the enourmous white form rising before him, was a wing that attached to a massive white dragon; which stood below near the fallen blue tower roof across the gateway.

"Loec graces us with his presence." Is all that came from Dethadrins mouth, as the mighty dragon extended its long neck and made as if to unleash flames onto the enemy.
Yet it was not flames that came from its mouth, but a massive and thunderous roar that erupted in a golden white shockwave; which covered the field towards the sea, and over the parapets.

The mage felt time itself slow all around him, as the magic enhanced the elven defenders and slowed their enemies. The warriors of Copher cut those around them with blinding speed, as horns pierced the air in victory.

The plateau before the city now contained three massive craters with the twister still reeking havoc. This seemed to have taken an effect on the rat warlord, who could now be seen leading his bodyguard regiments into the flank of the undead formations at the center; and which guarded the mound that kept whatever had destroyed the gate.

A smile formed as Dethadrin could not help but find a comical feeling towards the reliable treachery that came from the rats.

Tywin had made his way back towards Dethadrin and now stood at his side and said.

"Its not over yet, that thing can still destroy the entire city."

Dethadrin nodded in agreement, and watched the two flying mounts that were swooping towards the mound, and thought to himself; time for the final blow.

* * * *

The massive twister and comets had provided a perfect distraction for the trio, not to mention the dust that had covered the field, and relieved their fears of massed arrows and whatever else that could bring them down.

Calehir brought Khaine in a leading swoop on the hill with Elandrels pegasus close behind, and then whispered in Ada's ear. " Watch my back. "

She gave a quick nod as he crouched and made to jump from Khaine's back. Golden white particles seemed to appear from thin air all around Calehir, which brought a confident smirk to his face.
His legs sprung from the crouch as they passed over the hill, and sent him into a slow arc'd backflip while drawing his great-sword simultaneously.

He nimbly landed on the hill between two foul guards with massive and oddly shaped swords, and wasted no time. Calehir swung his sword in a wide flurry of five angled swings, to which brought both of the guards to the ground.

The magic filled him with blinding speed and strength, as his legs moved and spun him out of harms way.  Six new foes had spotted him and seemed to be ignoring Elandrel who was not too far off and clutching his chest.

"Get a hold of your self Elandrel!" Calehir shouted as white fletched arrows found their marks on the approaching undead guards.

Ada had grown rather accustomed to his bow and showed skillful accuracy that surpassed his own. As if a Caledorian could shoot a bow he thought to himself, as he clutched the sword that was his true mastery.

Calehir brought his hand up and deflected a deadly blow with a magical shield spell, while he lifted his great sword high into the air and down onto a skeleton to his right.
The prince's feet followed his momentum and spun him past another foe for a position on the two remaining guards. Calehir cut one in half and parried the second, which was followed with successive blows before the undead guard could recuperate.

His sword felt as light as a feather and craved to kill his mortal enemy that stood atop a mound of skulls; with an altered altar that had odd rat creations holding a massive piece of green warpstone.

The undead mummy sensed his presence and turned to face Calehir with bright green eyes and golden armor ordained with blue scales and jewels. It carried a large halberd with a long curved blade and pointed at him with its free hand.

Calehir burst into a sprint and jumped up the mound of skulls with elven grace. He brought his sword up over his right shoulder and with a glorious battle cry, swung his sword down towards the Tomb King.
The prince's eyes grew in disbelief, as the mummy's jaw widened to an unnatural length and came back at Calehir with a screeching roar. Which was also accompanied by an unseen blast that hit the prince into the air and made the hill slowly grow smaller.

The prince did not notice the eagle claws grip him mid flight, as a massive purple ball of energy consumed the hill and the surrounding regiments, including the maddened rat warlord who had made it to the base of the mound.

Part 17

The demons screeching echoes' in his head, were much more excruciating then he had expected. Though he knew the power of his bloodline was working, as he was gaining further control over his body.

The pain had brought Elandrel to his knees, which he knew was a bad idea in the middle of a battlefield. Yet he had underestimated the demons power, and had not expected a full possession so soon. The key to the Arhain bloodline, was where normal entities would slowly grow weaker to the demons power, their blood would siphon energy from the unsuspecting demon until they could overpower it.

"Get a hold of yourself Elandrel! " Calehir shouted in his direction which caused him to lift his head and actually realize what was happening.

The Prince moved with unreal speed, as his massive sword swung in deadly arcs and showed a rare skill the elves called 'Shadow Step '. This skill was a mastery of a magically embued footwork, which made the prince almost impossible to follow while moving.

Elandrel finally regained his composure and straightened upright, as he watched the prince cut down two remaining guards and sprint towards the undead Tomb King.

A smile found its way across  Elandrel's features, as the screeches began to subside and allowed him to slowly make into a sprint towards the dangerous undead king.
Calehir's charge had gained the kings full attention and allowed the mage to approach up the mound of skulls unseen. Though he was startled as he came to the altar behind the Tomb King, and watched the prince be launched into the air by an unseen force.

I will not take you lightly this time, Daherais... my brother, I will see you soon. Elandrel thought to himself, as his eyes flared a dark blue and he felt the screeches return after taping into the demons power.
He ran full speed at the undead king, and tackled it to the ground from behind.

"Vengeance is mine!" Elandrel shouted into the air as he struggled with the undead king who desperately tried to free himself. Yet the death magic coursed through his veins, swirled around him and flared out of his eyes, nose and mouth. Soon he was surround in a massive purple energy storm that began to consume the hill; and also drew power from the green stone on the altar.

As chaos surrounded Elandrel, his heart became at peace with realizing he was able to avenge both his brother and his prince. Yet more importantly, he would slay the demon that had plagued their family for generations.

Fornas forgive me, were his last thoughts as the entire hill was consumed by a massive purple sun of destruction; an ancient spell from the teachings of Death magic.

* * * *

Althran stood upon the debris from the fallen tower and stared in awe at the massive white dragon, and a beautiful maiden in gold silks and armor with rich white hair to her shoulders.
She was now approaching him after dealing a killing blow to a foul rat sorcerer who had almost killed him.
The rat had unleashed a horrible spell of lightning that had brought the prince to his knees just after the dust cloud had consumed them. And to his delight, he had watched the golden armored maiden fly through the air from the dragons back; and drove her sleek spear through the chest of the unsuspecting rat.

His swordmaster guardians had taken many casualties, yet with Sinolis's reinforcements they continued to cut down those around them that tried to flee. The enemy had routed with the destruction of the tomb king, the rat warlord and the sorcerer.
Much of the magic that had propelled the undead forces, was now weak and the skeletons began to crumble in the thousands, as the rats were in full retreat.

Any further threat to the walls was being attacked by massive eagles in the air, who swooped on the remaining artillery crews.

Victory, he thought to himself and turned his attention to his rescuer who spoke to him as she approached.

" I have heard tales of your magnificent armor, Prince Althran. I am Norein Delosir, newest commander of the Golden Company." She said with a quick bow and a smile.

Althrans eyes widened as he realized the odds of her surviving that horrible storm. Though his surprise was outmatched by his charm and said.

" Prince Toran's praise of you was not unfounded I see, your timing could not have been better. "

The White dragon had coiled its neck and was now observing the two, as they stood a few paces from each other and watched the fall out of the massive siege.

" I am Teraskonarr'Isa Emerikk."

The white dragon chimed in, as its head grew closer and seemed to dwarf the size of Calehir's griffon on its own.

Althran made a deep bow and answered, " I thank you mighty dragon lord, your presence has turned the tide of battle. It is a great honor to meet you, Teraskonarr."

Part 18

The suns heat bore down on him, as Darenusaka found himself standing beside countless ranks of troops who stood defiant against an army of glittering silver. Those beside him were humans who wore armor ordained with blue scales and sand colored cloths; the garb of people from the deserts of Araby.
He stepped forward and shouted words of encouragement, as if someone else was in control.
In his right hand was a halberd with a large curved blade, much like the tomb king he had seen... though he could not grasp how much time had passed since the siege of Copher.
These thoughts brought flash backs, as he soon realized that he had lost control of the mage, which was something that had never happened before.

The dream seemed to flash in small sequences as the two armies met in a massive clash of shields on shields. The silver armored foes were elves, disgusting elves who fought with unreal speed, as the humans struggled against a superior foe.
The battle raged as Darenusaka watched the massive halberd cut down countless elves. Though he was soon met by a familiar looking elven lord carrying a long spear and wearing silver robes and armor. The elf's silver hair flowed with his movements as they engaged each other in a deadly duel.

It took a few moments for him to realize that it was prince Ithenias before him, though much younger. He became confused as these visions flashed before him with no clear purpose. Though his questions were soon answered as the silver elf impaled him with the sleek spear he carried, and took him to the ground.
Ithenias now stood over him while taking hold of a golden amulet around Darenusaka's neck and said.

"It is foolish to stand against the Ever Empire, Copher is ours now."

To which he replied, " the amulet is bound to me and so is this city. I will return, I will find it, and I will kill you."

Ithenias smiled, broke the chain with a hard pull, and twisted the spear as he responded.

"Death takes you now, human."

He felt the blade twist and everything became dark, the sounds of the battle dwindled and became silent.

Darenusaka's vision slowly retuned to a night sky filled with stars and the smell of burning corpses. He found himself standing at the center of a massive crater with high dirt cliffs rising above him on all sides, though something felt different.
The feeling came from his shoulders which soon produced massive wings that he unconsciously wrapped around himself and the power; he could feel an immense energy flowing through him.
He smiled as he realized that he had somehow manifested into the world and was no longer cursed to possess lesser beings.

"The gods smile on me!" He shouted, as his wings expanded and rose high above him.

So that is why they attacked the city, I will surely return to find this... amulet. He thought  to himself as he admired his new lethal claws that could easily rip a man in two, or an elf.

He then took to the air with a few powerful flaps from his wings, and let out a piercing screech that seemed to echo off the nearby mountains.

* * *

Though they had successfully defended the city, the damage sustained was daunting and slowed the progress of preparing the funerals for those lost. They had lost many, including the warden of the city who would be laid to rest in the catacombs below the central citadel.

Calehir slowly observed the remaining nobles and lords that had survived the attack, and stood across from the royal company's captains in the main hall of the citadel.

With the loss of prince Ithenias, a new warden would be chosen by the phoenix king. Which could take some time and would create problems with who would control the city during the transition.

Althran's natural leadership seemed to be filling the role, as their company had suffered the least amount of casualties and made them the largest military presence in the city.
These thoughts brought tears to Calehir's eyes as Elandrels sacrifice weighed heavily in his thoughts.

A warm hand grasped his own as Ada seemed to sense his pain, he smiled in her direction and returned his gaze to Althran, who was standing near the high chair.

"The repair of the eastern fortress gate is our top priority, lord Brakist I wish to place this task under your command." Althran said to the elven prince, who then stepped forward with a rather sour look and responded.

"By what right do you think you can take control of this city? I do not recall choosing the great prince Althran for this task." He finished with his head held high, as whispers of support could be heard between the nobles.

An unsettling silence lingered as both sides stared at each other with menacing glares. Calehir's eyes locked with those of Brakists, as the lord stood resolute in silver armor with red robes and dark brown hair. The tension was broken as the white haired maiden he  had seen earlier, stepped forward and said.

"You would attempt to create division between us after what has just happened? My lords, might I remind you that we were sent here by orders from the  phoenix king. There would be nothing left of this city without us, and I do not recall any of you leading a charge to keep the enemy from entering the city."

" You dare challenge my courage! I will not allow an outsider to take control of my city and give me commands!" Brakist returned with fire in his eyes as the room exploded with shouting and curses.

Calehir could feel his anger rising as this was the very thing he hated, lords and nobles attempting to further themselves in their standing. A short lived victory is what had happened, a few nights of mourning and celebrating the glorious defense of the city.
Now they created new enemies within the court and it would become a game of shadows and politics, all of which made him sick.

Foolish, Calehir thought to himself as the shouting continued.

Part 19

A few weeks had passed since the siege of Copher, and yet the repairs to the city were still slow due to the division in the court. As time passed, no clear agreement could be made with the native lords of the city and personal grievances became apparent between them.

Calehir also found that most of the Royal company's time was being spent at the Crescent Moon keep near the sea. The officers hall had become their place of meeting and was now where he sat.

Althran was seated at the head of the table, while Dethadrin, Anoras, Norein and Sicandric sat across from him. To his right sat Ada, Soretu, and Sinolis, all of which were the senior leaders of the company.
With so many lost, it was taking time to re-organize the battalions while also waiting for new orders from  Ulthuan. And as such, Althran was doing his best to keep everyone active.

"Well I believe you all have seen the rather unfortunate turn of events, there are those who clearly feel threatened by our presence now that our missions have been completed. Norein, you will be the first to make your voyage back to Ulthuan. Your Timefrost dragon is rare and very valuable to the Asur. You will rendezvous with the dragon ship 'SunBlade' off the coast of Cothique, which is heading for Lothern. " Althran said, as he began the meeting and turned his attention to Anoras'se Cruen and continued.

"Anoras, you will accompany her as you are her appointed Archmage, both of you have our greatest gratitude with your timely entrance. I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we would not be seated here without your help."

The room echoed their praise as Calehir gave a nod and a smile to Norein who sat across from him.

"Althran, I wish to join them if it is not too bold, there is much knowledge in Teraskonarr and I have many questions."

The room was silent as Dethadrin finished his point and brought a smile to Calehirs' face, he had seen his friend speaking with Norein on many occasions since the battle.
Althran, who was now also smiling, gave a nod of approval and continued.

"The threat has passed and I see no harm until you are needed elsewhere, I foresee most of the company having similar orders in the future. I believe our time here is finished, Sicandric you will take charge of the fleet transporting Norein's battalion and will make the same rendezvous."

Dethadrin's cousin nodded in agreement, yet before he could reply, the oak door at the far end of the hall opened and interrupted the meeting.

They were confronted by two elven strangers, two males with similar features, yet different hair color and eyes. The first wore full blackened plate armor with a dark black cloak and a massive white sword strapped along his back. His shoulder length white  hair was accompanied with shimmering blue eyes that showed experience and age. Their facial features were angled with signs of nobility and sibling similarities, yet the second was almost opposite with jet black hair and dark silver eyes with the blessing of isha. He also had a bow slung over his shoulder and two long swords on his hips, his dark Ithilmar scales favored agility and his dark cloak was hooded for stealth.

They both came to a halt at the far end of the table, as the white haired warrior broke the silence.

" Prince Althran, we must speak immediately, in private."

Calehir instinctively rose from his chair and said. " Who are you to interrupt this meeting, introduce yourself at once! Or must I remind you that you are in the presence of high princes'."

"At ease Calehir, it matters not, let them speak." Althran answered as a smile formed on the white haired strangers face.

Calehirs' blood was boiling and kept him from returning to his seat. The lingering silence was awkward, that is until the black haired one stepped forward with an emblem in his hand and said.

"Our names are of no consequence, we do not exist. We are shadow knights of the White tower."

He recognized the emblem as the elf came closer and walked along the table. Calehir had seen it before, when he was young and when his father was still alive. The emblem consisted of a slim white tower upon a dark grey field and a small symbol he could never make out at a distance.
Agents of the white tower, or well specialized Swordmasters, though their normal missions were related to the pleasure cults still plaguing Ulthuan in its dark corners. These cults worshipped the chaos god, Slaneesh; what could they be doing here?

The emblem also caused Calehir to sit and nod to Althran, who acknowledged it immediately and said.

"I must ask you all to step outside, I will continue our meeting shortly."

The room cleared as the two strangers sat across from Calehir and waited for the door to close.

Part 20

It had been some time since Adalinusi had sailed on the high seas and never on an elven ship. The way the silver lined hull seemed to glide through the water at such high speeds was miraculous, the elves had legendary reputations on the seas and now she realized why. The tall triangle formed sails caught the wind in shimmering dark blue canvas,  and pushed the vessel towards the endless blue horizon.
Ada was pacing on the command deck at the stern portion of the ship, and ran her fingers along the smooth surface of the magically crafted railings; her thoughts of their purpose for this voyage were troubling.

Captain Soretu had prepared his ship to make way the night after the strangers had interrupted the meeting. Their names were still a secret and even Calehir was not sure of their purpose.

The two agents had arrived in a small hawk ship which had left as fast as it had come, and they requested an escort for some unknown dignitary in the central citadel. All she knew was that she had seen two hooded figures board the deck and enter the sleeping quarters' at the forecastle of ship. An escort mission to the elven port in Lustria, the Citadel of Dusk

Her thoughts were interrupted by silent hands that found her waist with a familiar touch from the only person who could sneak up on her, Calehir.
She slowly leaned her head back on his shoulder and kept her gaze on the open waters.

"Troubling thoughts?" Calehir asked in a soft tone, as she nodded in agreement with a long sigh.

"Something dark, i can feel it." Ada finally answered after a long silence and shook her head.

She felt his arms slowly tighten around her without another word, and they continued to stare at the sea.

"Come, we can talk more in our quarters." Calehir said, as she turned in his arms and faced him.

"Promise you will stay close, we only see but a piece of the picture so far and I ..." Ada was stopped by his hand on her cheek and that deep smile he always gave her.

" I will, and I do promise, I have seen the strength in you and there is no darkness we cannot destroy while we stand together. " He replied in his confident tone that could only come from being an Asur prince, yet it was comforting none the less.

"Though what could scare my savior more then charging headlong into a sea of skeletons and murderous vampires, is beyond me..." Calehir continued and completely changed the topic to her annoyance, in which she responded with a strong push to his chest.

Calehir took a few steps back from the momentum with a laugh that was as infectious as the first time she had heard it, and lifted her spirits.

"Yes well  your carefree attitude is what got you in the mess in the first place." She answered with a smile, which soon faded as she could not shake the dark aura.

" Calehir, this is different it is hard to explain but there is something very dark nearby, its presence has been growing since we left, please take this seriously."

With these words, the mood changed again and he gently grasped her hands in his and said.

" Then be weary and ready, these two 'shadows' have their own agenda and I am sure it cannot stay a secret forever. We will be ready, together."

She returned a slow nod with a smile and followed him to their quarters.

The stern castle of the ship contained the captains quarters just below the command deck on which they had stood. And below that was the combined room that had been prepared for them, upon Calehir's refusal to take Soretu's captain chambers.
For a prince, Calehir was rather modest in her eyes, especially after what she had seen in the Elven courts. Though the more she thought of it, the more he stood out amongst the elves, herself alone was proof of that.

Upon entering their quarters, she moved to the small chest in the corner and put her long black coat on the chair nearby. Ada had reverted to the black leather pants and boots, as she could not gain a combat comfort in the long silks that had come with the armor. Though she kept the golden breast plate which fit perfectly and contained fittings for a quiver of arrows along the back of her waist. The bow had taken the place of the bandolier, as finding ammunition for her brace of pistols was impossible amongst elves. So she kept it all in the small travel chest they had provided her.
Ada was rather enjoying Calehir's bow, her father had taught her how to use her gift from what they called 'the blessing of Isha' to magically enhance her accuracy. This bypassed her human limitations all together and was the same technique she used for any weapon.

Ada's life seemed to be flashing before her eyes as she thought of her many experiences and brushes with death, nothing had ever given her a feeling like she felt now.
She turned to Calehir who was now staring at some kind of emblem that he held in his hand, a still silence followed before he finally spoke.

"The story of my father is a dark one, he had traveled to the eastern kingdoms of Ulthuan before the massive goblin invasion that sacked our great city of Tor Yvresse. My mother was also with him, together they helped defend the city and stood defiant amongst its citizens to hold back the tide at the steps of the watchstone tower. "
Calehir turned to her with a tear in his eye as he continued his tale.
"Our great hero Eltharion arrived in time with reinforcements, which destroyed the goblin horde, yet the world was in peril as the watchstone in the cities main citadel had been disrupted. My father, along with three others accompanied Eltharion into the tower to calm the magical energies that threatened to tear the city apart and send all of Ulthuan into turmoil. The great Kendrakor Draconis along with the three others, were said to have never made it out alive."

Calehir paused in thought as he continued to stare at the emblem, which she could make out as she came closer. It was the same sigil the strangers had shown back in Copher.
"Why do you have one of those Calehir?" Ada asked and gently placed her hand on his arm to break his concentration.

"It was my mothers, I took it before they traveled east together, I was young but still very observant. I saw her speaking with two agents carrying the same sigil. So I followed her to a secret room behind an illusional wall. She was one of them, and when she returned with her armor and told me of my fathers passing, I knew it was a lie. I could see it in her eyes and the way she spoke, something happened in that tower and its connected to these agents. It was the last time I spoke with her."

It took a bit of time for the story to sink in as Ada was taken back with what seemed to be unfolding.

"What are you saying Calehir, you think she was involved with what happened to your father?" She asked while he unbuckled her armor and helped place it near the chair.

"All I have found is some information from someone seeing two of the four who entered, being escorted down an escape canal beneath the city. These agents have ruthless reputations and will stop at nothing to achieve their goal, they also work closely with the Nagarathi. They enlist shadow warriors into their service, so we will have to be careful as they are always watching. "

A chill crept along her neck,  as she saw flashing images of the cloaked figures boarding the ship.

"Is there anyone we can trust?" She asked quietly and moved closer to Calehir.

"Their orders requested me personally, and  for what reason I am not sure. Yet Soretu is a Captain of the Royal Company, and this is his ship. Though for now, it's best we kept this to our selves until we can find more information on what their true agenda is."

She noded in agreement and picked up her long dagger while smiling in his direction.

"Can't be too careful "She said and winked as they prepared to get some rest.

Part 21

His hands began to shake with rage as he tried to process what his spy was telling him. Althran took a seat half way down the officers table and listened to the Ill news from Lothern, the  capital of Ulthuan and the location of the Phoenix kings court.
Prince Toran, the Royal Companies senior commander, was taken prisoner and found guilty of worshipping the chaos god Slaneesh and leading a cult of power.

A general round up of anyone close to prince Toran had been issued under suspicion of conspiracy, which meant every highborn in the Royal Company would be next; Though why agents had come and sent Calehir on a mission just six days earlier was still a mystery.

"You are sure your report is fully accurate?" He asked his spy, as Sinolis came into the room, and was accompanied by an elven mage with long black robes and two personal swordmaster guardians in blackened armor.
Her dark waist length hair matched her robes and her bright blue eyes gave Althran a chill down his back. The two swordmasters were holding their massive great swords with ease and made an eerie sight with matching black robes beneath their armor.

"Prince Althran, it looks as though you already know why we are here." She said to him with a wicked smile and held the shadow knight sigil in her right hand.

Althran stood from his chair as he watched with dread at what was unfolding before him.
The spy Hinas, slowly fell to his knees as one of the swordmasters almost cut him through and through with a quick slash across his chest. While Sinolis was able to draw his blade in time to deflect the remaining guardians first strike, but not the second as it took his left arm at the shoulder.

"Run!" Sinolis shouted in agony, as he thrusted his sword into the stomach of his attacker and brought them both to the ground.

"You know you can't run Althran, now where is the amulet prince Ithenias wore? And what was Captain Soretu's destination? I must recover the amulet!" Her final words ended in a shout, as her left arm extended with lightning speed and summoned a dark blue energy blast that hit him into the wall .

Althran gasped for air after the impact, as the agent nodded to the remaining swordmaster who then drew his sword from the chest of Sinolis.
"I will not ask again, where is the SilverMist heading?" She questioned and stood beside her guardian with a menacing glare.

" You have it all wrong, there is no cult here damn you." Althran growled between breaths as she stared deep into his eyes.

"We know Toran gave you orders to obtain the amulet and we know of your cults influence throughout the Royal Company." She paused for a moment, and gazed at her surroundings in deep thought before continuing.

"Very well, I am sure my troops will find the information I need in the city... Kill the cultist."
She turned her back and made for the door as the elf paced towards him with the sleek great-sword.

Perfect, Althran whispered quietly and raised his armored fist towards his attacker. He felt the death magic flow through him and into the soul of the elf who now had his sword ready to strike; the magic took his life and caused his eyes to roll back as he collapsed before Althran.

He then grabbed the great sword and brought himself up onto one knee, as the elf maiden turned and noticed what had happened.

"It wont be that easy !" Althran shouted and hit her with a death magic sphere that erupted into smoke and pushed  her against the open door.
The smoke provided  him enough time to reach the balcony with a full sprint and a leap on to the roof of the stables below.
He landed hard and over rotated from the steep angle , which brought him  into a tumble that  gained speed and approached the edge of the roof.
Althran perceived the edge approaching and in a final desperation, the black prince used every bit of his strength to stab the sword into the roof and stop his fall. His timing could not have been better as he felt his legs dangling over the edge.
Althran paused for a moment to regain himself, as the shouts from the balcony above could be heard.
He then gave the sword a quick twist and landed the now manageable fall in a low crouch, which happened to be directly in front of two Sentinels in golden armor.

The look on both their faces caused Althrans grip on the sword to relax, and also brought a familiar smile to his face.

"Commander, what is happening, the city is crawling with troops from Ulthuan, we've also been ordered to stand down and seize you on sight!"

Althran immediately recognized his questioner as Feriast, a verteran of high renown amongst his ranks and extremely loyal. He slowly straightened himself with a small groan and replied.

"Fear not, things are not all as they seem, I believe we have made enemies in the kings court; find me Elandrels Pegasus quickly!

Haha glad your enjoying it, feedback is always welcome, here's a little more :D

Part 22

The private audience with the shadow knight maiden had started calmly and then to his amazement, errupted into shouting and curses; apparently he was responsible for not securing the city  during her un-authorized raid of the Crescent Moon Keep.

"Lord Brakist, you answer to me and you will do everything in your power to retrieve prince Althran and all those on board of the Silver Mist, is that clear!"

"Yes Lucinia, I will also clean up that mess you left in the officers hall, might I add that those black robes go rather well with those beautiful blue eyes, fortunate those enchantments kept the blood off your hands ." He answered with a sly smile.

"This is a cultist leader with great power, do not take this lightly. I captured prince Toran and I will catch his fellow followers." She said in a calming tone, to which she turned in a flurry of black hair and left the Citadel Hall.

"Oh we will see about that my dear, come Ledras that is it for tonight." He said to his close friend and bodyguard.
Ledras wore his silver and bronze plated armor with dark red robes to match Brakist's house colors. A noble line dedicated to protecting the Brakist family and known for being extremely superstitious.
The Brakist house had old blood and connections throughout Ulthuan, these Shadow Knights had no idea of his involvement with their masters.

His mind turned to foreseeing what Althrans' next move would be, as Ledras opened the door to his chambers and cleared the room.

"Thank you Ledras, that will be all for tonight." He said and watched Ledras lock the door. His friend turned to him and pushed his light brown hair to the side with his hand and revealed dark red eyes.

"Ledras is in the realm of chaos, most likely suffering in ways you could not imagine." He answered with a smile that quickly turned into fangs and within an instant, Ledras morphed into a black demon with dark red armor and matching eyes.
The demon stretched its wings to the ceiling and paced towards him with an outstretched claw.

"You will do everything in your power to find that amulet or you will join Ledras in the chaos world, and believe me I will make it special for you." The demon hissed with another smile, as its hand gripped him and held him above a portal that appeared beneath him. Red fire lept from the cavernous portal, to which Brakist could not pull his gaze from; the demons claw passed his vision and lifted his head to look into its eyes.

"I take it we have a deal, I don't sleep and neither will Ledras... I will be watching" It said as the portal closed and the demon released its grip, rendering him back onto his feet.
Brakist regained his composure and realized he was looking at Ledras once again, was he dreaming? He thought to himself as Ledras opened the door and turned to him.

"That was no dream Gidras Brakist." Ledras said with a haunting smile and closed the door.

Part 23

The morning dawn crested the horizon with an orange and red glow, as the sun began to rise in the clear sky above. The Silver Mist was maintaining a good pace  down the Yvresse coast, this particular kingdom of Ulthuan was known for its shrouded mists that could be seen in the distance.

Soretu had always disliked sailing through those mist and avoided them as much as possible, one could never be sure as to what lurked the misty islands that littered the shoreline.
He turned his gaze back to the long deck that characterized the many Eagle ships in Ulthuan's navy. His crew of Lothern Sea guard were pacing the deck with quivers of arrows,  extra weapons and ammunition for the ships two sets of bolt thrower batteries. Raiders were known to lurk the outer mists and so a call to stations had been issued.

Zen'istor took the helm on the open sea as his studies of Menlui, or water magic, enhanced his control over the ship and made him one of the best navigators Soretu had ever seen. The mage seemed to control the water surrounding the ship and was able to reach a harmonious unity that responded to his every whim.
The wind caught Zen'istor's black robes and dark red hair in its gusts, as the mage acknowledged the captain with a quick nod. Soretu closed the gap between them with a few long strides across the deck, and returned the nod.

" Keep a sharp eye, and where are our guests?" The captain questioned with an anxious tone, he hated these mists.

"Here they come now captain." The mage replied and gave a quick point towards the two groups climbing both of the curved staircases to the command deck. Calehir and Ada approached from the right as the two nameless guests came up on the left, both of which were retrieved at his command.

" I suggest we all get to know each other as the more south we get, the more dangerous it will be. Rogue ships slip past our patrols in increasing numbers and we may need to rely on each other more then some of us would like."
Soretu could sense the tension between the two groups as he finished speaking, and decided to wait in silence for a reaction.

"How can I trust a nameless shadow, do not waste your time Soretu, they need us to keep the dignitary safe and that is all." Calehir said in a cold tone and broke the lingering silence.

"When we dock in Lustria, further instructions will be revealed..." The white haired elf answered, yet was interrupted by an angry Caledorian prince.

"How about telling us all what it is we are transporting, this is all too sudden and shrouded with deception!" Calehir shouted back and stepped towards the two agents.

"You will step back or you will force me to draw my weapon." The agent said in a cold tone, and placed his right hand on the hilt of his great sword that hung along his back.
Soretu brought his hands up towards his face and used his palms to rub his eyes and try to relieve the frustration that was building inside. This was not what he wanted and before he could stop the argument, a blinding clash of swordplay flashed before him with deadly speed.
Calehir swung his great sword in high angled sweeps that were met by the faster parry's from his adversary. The agent swung his shimmering white sword with equal force that matched Calehirs' and would proceed to counter with quick strikes that found only air. Calehir ducked low as his opponent tried a swing that should have cut him in half and came back up in a spin and with a strike of his own that forced the agent to put some room between them.

"Calehir this is not helping the situation, stop this!" Ada shouted as the two circled the deck, and had now gained the full attention of Those aboard the ship.

"Alas the maiden speaks the truth, Sontas that is enough, many of the dangers in Copher no longer threaten us while we are on this ship; and you may call me Velnos." The dark haired brother said and finished with a small bow towards Ada.

Soretu slowly shook his head with a sigh, and walked towards the railing which overlooked the main deck that was littered with confused elves.

"Back to your stations immediately, I want lookouts on the masts and archers on the forecastle, now!" Soretu shouted with a harsh tone that took his crew by surprise and broke them from their fixation on the fighting.

"It is of utmost importance that this particular dignitary reaches the Citadel of Dusk, the death of prince Ithenias was unexpected and certain measures must be taken." Velnos continued while Soretu moved between Calehir and Sontas, both of which were staring daggers at each other.

"Your not telling us everything... I can feel it, what have you brought on this ship?" Ada questioned and seemed to catch the attention of the agents simultaneously.

"What exactly can you feel?" Velnos answered with a renewed interest and began to approach Ada.

"Mast on the horizon, two points off the starboard bow!" Came a shout from the top mast and interrupted any further conversation.

" This will have to wait, I suggest you all get to the forecastle and look after your cargo! " Soretu exclaimed and paced back to his position that overlooked his ship.

"Report on her colors, seal all compartments and prepare for combat!" He shouted with a fixed gaze at the vessel that was heading straight for them, and had come out of the mists as he had feared.

"Zen'istor bring us two points to port and keep her in clean sight... this may get rough." Soretu said as he finished preparing his bow.

Part 24

The sky was a bright blue without a cloud to be seen, and allowed the suns rays to bathe the massive fleet with a scorching heat. The strong wind provided some comfort as it pushed them towards the port city of Lothern, though they were still on the northern end of Ulthuan and had many leagues to travel.

Norien was standing on the long main deck of the massive dragonship 'SunBlade", its masts reached for the sky and held massive triangular canvases of pearl white. The sleek form resembled that of its escort eagleships, though in a much larger scale and contained a massive blade attached to its forecastle.  It made a deadly ram and was supported by two sets of bolt thrower batteries which aimed forward.

Norein was being escorted to the command deck along with Anoras and Dethadrin, whom walked ahead of her as they passed more of the deadly bolt throwers that covered the port side of the ship. The enclosed command deck was a rare luxury that characterized the dragon ship class and it rose a few floors higher then the main deck.

The ship was busy with elves that carried a lords symbol she did not recognize, a mighty black sea serpent on a stormy sea was depicted on their shields and small places on their dark blue robes. Most were also armored in shinning silver Ithilmar, which glittered in the sun and was also the garb of the first officer who was at the head of their escort party.

She had landed with Teraskonarr on a massive merchant barge at the center of the fleet that had seemed almost custom made for the dragon. Norein had counted over ten ships in the fleet and was rather impressed with the means they were taking to keep the dragon safe. Though something pricked at the back of her mind, as she gazed back and forth... something just seemed out of place.

The party came upon a door at the base of the command deck that gave way to a long hall way with stairs at the far end and doors along its sides. She passed an open door that revealed crew quarters with a few elves placing their things and donning their armor. They passed an officers hall  as they climbed the staircases which rose in a gradual spiral, and finally to the large command deck with glass panes that gave those on the deck, a full three hundred and sixty degree view of their surroundings.

The Captain was tall and richly adorned with red gems in his armor and black silks of the finest grade, which actually marked him as the Commodore of the fleet. He also gave off a clear aura of vanity and class on a scale rarely seen. His tall silver helm matched his plate armor, and was tailed with a white plume that fell down to his shoulders and laid along his black hair. His eyes were ice blue and gave her an eerie chill as she noticed a scar that ran along his face from his right eye to his chin.

The party stopped ten paces from the rudder wheel where the Commodore stood and sat in an odd silence, Dethadrin finally made to speak, yet was stopped with a raise of the lords hand as he said.

"No need for introductions, I already know who you are... seize them, quietly."

"Seize? As if this will go quietly!" Dethadrin hissed as his hands ignited with white flames and caused Norien to tighten her grip on her sleek spear.

"There must be some mistake." Was all she could muster before a force gripped her and made her feel weak in the knees and her arms heavy. Norein fell to her knees as she watched Anoras's arm stretch out in a flash and hit Dethadrin with a massive blast of wind that picked up loose parchments from nearby tables, and hurled the white robed mage down into the stairs from which they had come.

Anoras turned to her with his other arm in an odd grip that seemed to be the source of the disabling magical energies around her.

"Everything better be ready for the dragon yesss, he will feel her pain, bound by blood they are yesss." Anoras said to the Commodore and walked closer to her.

"Why ?" Norien asked in a final desperation as it became harder to breathe.

"Because things are more complicated then we would like." Anoras answered and nodded to someone behind her before he turned back to the lord standing in silence.

"Set a course for the Citadel of Dusk yesss, we need these two alive and we will find what you are looking for." The little mage said and gave Norein another glance.

"I saved you... You traitor!" She screamed with all her might and tried to stand, though the familiar feeling of a long wooden spear shaft, stopped her from anything more as it struck the side of her head and brought her back down.

"That would all depend on which side of the fence you are standing my princess, yesss, secure them in the officers hall below and signal the merchant barge to begin containment on the dragon; oh and be careful with Dethadrin, yess he can be rather volatile." The short elf finished with a smile that absolutely infuriated her.

The room was still spinning from the strike as Norein felt a hard grip on both her arms, in which began to half drag her towards the staircase and where her friend Dethadrin lay unconscious from the impact.

Attack when they are unprepared, make your move when they least expect it.

Only in your darkest hour, will you triumph over true evil.
