Yea I wasn't really sure what to do after that. As a result of me arriving last I witnessed everyone's actions but wasn't discovered my self. I couldn't really just call you all out so I tried to get Paraic first since I had actually tried to frame him the night before. Fun evening though.

Thanks Ruerl, that DAU was great, shame someone had to go and kill me, assassination was fun. The real issue with night 3 was the off chance that I ended up failing to kill Cidracin... that would have left me with some interesteing explaining to do.

Sure, might even plot together with someone else to make another familiar DaU, with even broader possibilities than this one had, including perhaps, the option to murder the host, named servants with flaws etc.The Darkness wrote:Thanks Ruerl, that DAU was great, shame someone had to go and kill me, assassination was fun. Re: DaU 10 - The party (game thread)
i found this friggin hilarious. if i had to die, that was the PERFECT time. The reason no one found Shiadrils (P_A's) murderer was that no one bothered to check Kerion Morningsun (Allerion) who died by falling down the stairs.
Why did i try to kill P_A? well, it was between him and illidan, and Illidan had kinda supported The Darkness a bit, and killing Illidan really wouldnt help much, just more of a name-kill than anything else. and P_A kinda seemed to have a similar role as The Darkness. (the person i was trying to get to win... damnit, so close...)
and i thought elileth might have been my assassin... did he know "i" hired him?
good job on the well-run DAU, Ruerl.
Excited for TOW

I only tried to kill you to throw any trails off me. I mean who kills their own sister?
I just can't believe I was so popular in this one... and so close to winning. But no, I forgot to check to see if someone was outside my room and got stabbed.

Re: DaU 10 - The party (game thread)
It seems like everyone was giving Ruerl more advanced directions then I was. Like waiting outside peoples rooms. I typically just said I'm going after whoever. Was it possible to be more detailed than that? I thought we were supposed to leave the details up to Ruerl.

Re: DaU 10 - The party (game thread)
This was my description for my assassination of you.
Layjith, scared that his outburst during the day may have gained the wrong types of attention needed to do something to draw attention away from himself. He told himself that he needed to kill someone, someone close to him. He needed to do the one thing they'd never accuse him of. "I'm sorry Ishneia, it must be done." he told himself quietly. He looked threw his belongings for one of his finer bottles of wine along with some of the poison he had brought with him (assuming you allow this of course). His plan was to slip the poison into her wine whilst toasting their prolonged survival in the manor and the discussion of who they think shou;d have the money. Before leaving his room for the task he grabbed one last item, a knife on the offchance he would need to protect himself. I hope I don't need you use you tonight...
His plan is:
- Slip the poison into his wine now (it's a resealable bottle), and take it and some glasses with him.
- Go to her room with the drink and insist they have a talk like old times about what has transired in the manor.
- Poor her a glass of the posioned wine, ensureing not to get it on himself.
- Give her a galss and no matter what he will not drink it. He will swirl and possibly sniff but mainly he will wait for her to drik and the poison to take effect.
- If he needs to he will use his knife to finish the deed and overpower her attempts to stop him.
- If she is not there he will sneek into the room and hide under the bed with the knife and wait until he can attack and ensure her death.
- The only way he plans on leaving the room is with her dead or himself dead.
- If he runs into someone on the way to the room he will smile kindly and say he is on his way to meet a maid... you know the cute one in the kitchens.
- If he meets someone else in the room it's attack with the knife.
- If the task is successful he will Slice her throat in order to make it appear the cause of death. He will then carve the rune of khaine into her chest and use her blood to make the initials M and S
Not sure how other people did it but this way works for me.

Damn no wonder I never succeded in killing anybody . My average PM was about six or seven words in length Oh well at least I'll be prepared if Ruerl really does run another DAU. I hope that you do Rurel this one was very interesting. To be honest I suspected the host was a Dark Elf and thought about asking whether or not I could attempt to assasinate or try to vote for him.

Re: DaU 10 - The party (game thread)
So it was finished, and he had won. Hjorych did not enjoy this game his uncle had put up for him. As he had known before, he was the only rightful heir, and so he had to be the one left standing. Then again, maybe the old lord Saleith had wanted to learn him one thing: That power did not come without unnecessary death.
He had taken one life, and that was the life of a murderer. When the goldsmith found him triumphing, he had simply given up. Hjorych had contemplated taking the bankrupt elf under his wings - after all, it would be necessary to build a new ring of alliances, and a goldsmith could come in handy for a lord - but the fact that he had struggled to take the lordship for himself made it impossible. Therefore, Mirienar D'nyss had to be killed or banished - not wishing further unneeded bloodshed to stain his House, Hjorych chose the second.
Conveniently, his uncle died soon after the affair was all over. Hjorych made the proper arrangements to honour his deceased family member, but could not help feeling Lord Saleith had seemed disappointed when he saw who emerged victorious, and how. And as Hjorych started searching the mansion to see what he had inherited, he found several strange objects - among them an envelope with a seal that surely was elven, but certainly didn't come from Ulthuan. But instead of giving it to a highern official to get it checked, Hjorych locked in a chest with other personal belongings of the dead elf - sometimes it was best to leave secrets alone.
You're not the only one surprised at my victory, Ruerl! I only realised I might have a slight chance of winning the last night, and when Layjith went for Mirienar and you gave me a bonus like that (I could've done better job at that last PM), victory was certain.
Deciding to roleplay a character instead of going for the tactical approach to a game, Hjorych didn't try assassination a single night (the last night was not really an assassination - Hjorych was actually acting more as a bodyguard for Mirienar!), sought open battle and conflict, and took party with none but himself. It's great that this approach made me victorious! As Ruerl points out, I also thought Hjorych would get more negative attention (only the Dutchiis tried to kill me - I'll remember it.), but I wasn't really trying to win in the first place. Although I don't think it should've been labelled as a DAU, it was a great take on it, and I think it was a fun, fast-paced and well-run game by Ruerl. I only regret not having time to write more and better posts.

Funny fact, in my attempted murder the first night I was trying to blame it on you, like a sloppy attempt of would-be suicide with a badly written suicide note that couldn't have been written by a sober person.Allerion wrote:Why did i try to kill P_A? well, it was between him and illidan, and Illidan had kinda supported The Darkness a bit, and killing Illidan really wouldnt help much, just more of a name-kill than anything else. and P_A kinda seemed to have a similar role as The Darkness. Shame I didn't get a bonus on the description, Hjorych would've been a dead elf otherwise and the game would've gone quite different.

Kerion, seemingly asleep, stayed in his chair when they were told to retire for the night. He carried on the illusion of sleep into the early morning. His eyes snapped open, and a grin appeared on his face. they honestly expect a seamaster to be such a lightweight? after all of the grog ive drunken, it would take several bottles of that saphirian stuff to even start to affect me. Kerion stood up, and crept down the hallway until he came to the room of Shiadril Gloamingmist.
i try to assassinate Shiadril Gloamingmist
then i go to bed.
