Greetings all. Apologies in advance if this isn't the right forum section for this.

I just noticed our dark cousins have a Druchii Facebook group. I peruse several Warhammer related groups and I figured since my main interest is High Elves that it is a pity that there is no similar group for this site.

Would anyone else be interested in this?

To be honest I don't see the additional need when we have everything we need here but if you want to be the beacon of light on Facebook for the HE community then you could always try something and see what happens.

I can think of one problem you might run into which is people who don't want to discuss WFB on Facebook. For instance a couple of my gaming friends refuse to talk about WFB on Facebook as they don't want their work colleagues to know about their nerdy hobby! The other big advantage of the forum is the layout and organisation it offers. AFAIK this isn't really doable on Facebook - how would you organise everything?

The big question then is do you think a Facebook site would offer anything new or different to the site here (which is very good and very active as it currently stands). If the answer is yes and you think there is something you can offer then go for it.

For me personally it's not really needed. However, I do see more and more people (younger ones mostly) to whom forums are not really interesting. Believe it or not, they find them too complicated or time consuming. The idea is that ulthuan.net as a site has an additional outlet, and in that way would reach more people and more stuff can be shared, enlarging the community.

I figured it would be a nice idea if someone here would want to take it upon itself to do this (I'm not volunteering, apologies). Just thinking out loud how it might add value to the site in the long run.

The remark about "not wanting to" is a valid one. However, people organise their social media in different ways. Everyone on my Facebook is a actual friend or non-professional acquaintance, so I don't care that they can see my nerdy ways :D For Twitter, I use a separate Warhammer account because I use my "real" one for rather more serious matters. And I wouldn't follow GW stuff on LinkedIn ;)

With negligible High Elves content...

Also, I imagined a Ulthuan.net facebook presence. Not a generic High Elves one, again taking the example from Druchii where you have people posting their modelling etc. But the conclusion seems to be that there is little interest. Which is fine :)
