Yup well done guys. The new site seems fine, I've not noticed any issues, and all in all it was done in pretty short order.

Conga Rats lores, thanks for getting the site going so fast.

I keep getting lost though. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually... ;) Also, 279 Posts, this is depressing seen as I had ~2200

It's only the forum that's really taken a day and a bit. I spent Yesterday entirely deleting stuff, and today partly deleting stuff and then getting it all working. However I've been working for months on the new home page and the new portal, we also have a new blogging system (that's not linked from anywhere!) which I was playing with for several days. The only reason it's felt quick is that the downtime for the forum itself was fairly short, which was very much my plan.

Please do go explore the site though, there are all sorts of interesting new features to be found, and little quirks. The first challenge is to tell me where the post on the news section of the home page is posted. The second is to tell what the announcements forum is for now, and the third is whether we have two portals and what the other one is for if we do.

Answers on a post card.

Do we have a 'home' button? Currently, I can't figure out how to get back to the main portal from a forum/index... The 'Ulthuan' banner up top is linked to the Forum Index. It's ok for now as the portal is my homepage, but it would be nice to have the button on the website for other people.

Also BS, the news posts to where the announcements went in the old site.

i do love a treasure hunt....

answers on a post card? ... itll take WEEKS to get there....

would the news happen to be under the welcome thingy on the homepage?

anyway,

ive after a couple posts ive found the bar that has where you are in the forums (ex: Ulthuan Board index » Off Topic » Website Topics) went to the bottom of the page once or twice. not that thats a bad thing, its just that it took an extra 3 seconds of looking around for it, since im used to it being at the top.

the online/offline thing will come in handy for the next campaign ( [-o< )(yes, willing to wait several years)

just noticed the Forum Navigation and Blogs thing on the homepage. the forums were kinda hard to get to before i realized that... and if the site is down, how are we going to click on the link to your livejournal blog?

the 600,000 character limit on posts is going to force Rammie to cut the size of his posts down by half :D

finding new things by the minute, very pleased with the new site.

POST REVIEW???????? AWSOME!!!!!!!

No, you're entirely right, and it's on the top of my to do list, along side working out how to change the colour of the font on the top menu, and either get the chat button working or remove it. It's going to take me a couple of days though, partly because I'm busy tomorrow, and partly because Nag designed this theme and I need to work out how to use it. I thought I had the file earlier, but apparently not.
Also BS, the news posts to where the announcements went in the old site.
OK, obviously my challenge was badly worded. I know the posts appear on the home page. But previously posts from announcements were used to populate the home page. You'll notice this is no longer true. So where is the news on the home page coming from?

We're all going to have to get used to the new layouts. Myself included. Nothing much I can do, change in technology.

Believe it or not, but that section on the home page is actually a straight copy from the old forum. However I've been using it more too, so obviously we need more of those links in the header menu. Added to the list, below the other stuff that needs doing to that menu.

And the answer to finding the blog when the site is down is to bookmark that one separately, obviously. Once I've sorted out the main menu, you should only need two bookmarks, one to the home page, and one to the blog, the second only to be used when the first fails.

Also note that I've stuck a posts since last visit link onto the home page, for everyone's sanity, including mine. It's on the left side near the top.

This can only be a good thing surely? I dunno, I skip Rammies posts generally.

The archive still has the original counts. Everybody lost most of their count, though. There's really nothing that can be done about that.

Since I can restore it any time I like, I really don't see why I should be mourning it.

And stop showing off, Voodles.

Man got a bit of a shock when I came to check the site. Man you guys got it up and running fast. Although I had to spen 10 minutes or so trying to figure out where everything is now, and I must admit im still a little lost  . Anyway, the site lookis good and the control panel thng is also easier than the old profile mangement tool. Also like some of the new smilies.
But I would just like to say one thing. I worked really hard to get to 1000 posts (you know alot of spamming and trying to make out I know what im doing  ). Then a week or so later I get kicked back to about 14... Oh well. Still despite that a good job by all those involved.

Think how Eldacar feels, he lost around 10,000 from his post count.

Everyone's been affected, as the newest Lore, I've only lost around 50% of my post count and feel I got off lightly.

I agree with the original message of this post. I for myself am very thankful for all the effort.
Now let's see who's the first to return to their old post count. :)

Nah, Guy lives in Reading... Don't insult Scotmen, or you have it coming to you ;)

Elileth may have a good database, but he keeps it to himself. Doesn't like competition...
