Re: Top 5 hits and misses of the new High Elf armybook

Here are my top 5 misses. 1.Str 3 Dragon princes....WTF!?! ,DE heavy cav is str 4...I thought we were the same race. 2.No muso on sisters...just for spite I guess. 3.A chariot that flies moves the same speed as marching infantry...just plain dumb. #-o 4.Shadow warriors are weak and flavorless as men...

Re: Should I try an orcs & gobins army?

O&G surprised me.The army is better than you might think. I took up O&G because I felt like my reg opponents were having no chance against HE. I showed up with O&G and started skull dragging people...animosity is one of the things that keeps O&G models cheap...and fun. You can bring ...

Re: (WIP) High Elf Army

Are you priming your models? The last guy doesn't look like it.
If not that may be part of the problem, you must ALWAYS prime your models..flat plastic has no tooth.i.e. it doesn't hold the paint well.

Re: Larkspire's HE Coalition--PIC HEAVY.

I think the plastic PG will look good,I like for units to have some variety..not all men are the same height for instance. I have 10 of the old school white lions that I plan to add the new plastic White lions to as well. It would be really nice to have a new Dwarf book,I love their fluff but the ar...

Re: (WIP) High Elf Army

One thing that helps is to not think about time while painting. I.E. don't be in a hurry to finish,I used to hurt my neck painting tensely. Just relax and slowly paint each section to the best of your ability, while avoiding areas you know will be a different color. Also don't expect your first coat ...

Re: Larkspire's HE Coalition--PIC HEAVY.

Yeah,The PG need to be redone..they are from an earlier skill lvl.I'm waiting until I get a box of the plastic ones to finish the unit, and then I'll do them together. I'm confident I can do better. The helms are very WIP,they aren't even all base coated yet.I just put them up so the kitbashing would...

Re: henrypmiller army log

Quite a fine looking army you have there.I think you could use a tad more color depth, and maybe one more accent color, but you have a good clean style of painting which should allow you to improve the army as you go along. The banner seems a little too gold, you could do with another color on there. T...

Re: (WIP) High Elf Army

You need to thin your paints down considerably and take your time painting multiple coats, being careful to stay in the lines..just think of it like 3d coloring. Honestly, you should put those models in a bucket of Simple green overnight, scrub them clean and start over. I'm honestly trying to help and...

Re: Eltharion the Grim

Your right High Elf, He can't. I must have gotten his sword and Tyrion's mixed up in my head. So he would likely be killed by the Abomination as well,Tyrion could do it boosted. Only Eltharion would be able to cast it on himself though. That makes Nexs right as well, but a prince would need a separat...

It's better on him than many- ASF,re-rollable flaming,no AS attacks are even better when boosted.
He could kill a hellpit abomination. Not many characters can do that in one round, even boosted.

Re: Eltharion the Grim

He's a Badass. I've used him a number of times this edition,on foot. I always put lore of beasts on him. The problem is that your opponent automatically knows how little protection he has,and he can suffer in some match-ups when they are gunning for him. Having him in the unit w/ the BOtWD helps alo...

Re: How to resolve the mexican stand-off when you're outgunned?

You don't give them the choice of just sitting there. When the redirector is placed put it just blocking the corner of their unit while leaving a charge path for your hammer. They can charge the chaff and reform,or sit there and get charged to face. If their is a wide frontage of units then do it on ...

Re: How to resolve the mexican stand-off when you're outgunned?

The key with 'Monster mash' or aggressive heavy combat lord/low shooting lists is correct deployment and crossing the field quickly. You want to put your opponent on their heels immediately, making them REact to the things your doing instead of acting proactively on their own behalf. More specificall...

Great post! I agree with it entirely.I used to play tournament chess, and the best time to think is while your opponent is thinking. Playing fast is playing smart. You are depriving your opponent of time to think, and at least thru body language compelling them to move faster...but there's nothing wro...
