Re: Hello

My god, Elendor, that's nostalgic. Si'anelle's tales, the Hall of Ancients... Hey Anarion. How've you been? Did you notice we kept the same avatars after all these years? Some of you might remember I introduced my girlfriend to this community. She actually became very active in the Off Topic forum ...

Re: Hello

*dusts off account* Are there actually any backups of the old Ulthuan campaign subforums (Hour of the Wolf etc) still available? Hi Elias, Cenyu and other old faces! I suspect they are, probably just archived to only loremaster view. Unless they got deleted during the ages since I was last a lorema...

Tumbleweeds

*decloaks*

Drifted back across here after a number of years. Seems a little quieter around here then it used to be, although I still see some familiar names hanging around. Nice to see Ulthuan is still above the waves a bit, despite GW's efforts.

Re: DAU 14 - Shifting Isles (Sign-up and OOC)

Yeah, well it doesn't appear like enough people are interested even with cid and PA coming back out of the woodwork. I'm not sure if Domine and Asurion are still watching this. If you guys can collectively get another 8 people to commit I will still run it. If not, I don't think there is enough inte...

So apparently this forum is even deader than I thought. Unless this fills up in the next week - which now seems unlikely - this probably will not happen.

Re: DAU 14 - Shifting Isles (Sign-up and OOC)

What Asurion said. In reality it's more a game than an RPG. It's the online form of the party game, of which the various names currently escape me. The players need to identify the killer , in this case the Druchii, before he/she/they eliminate the rest of the players. If they succeed in identifying...

Re: DAU 14 - Shifting Isles

I assign roles, not characters. As this is a High Elf site it makes sense for you to be High Elves (or High elves in disguise). Of course, if I assign you a role of say, Swordmaster, and you are role playing a Dragon Prince from Caledor that hardly makes sense. So I suggest you come up with your cha...

DAU 14 - Shifting Isles (Sign-up and OOC)

I'm back! But only to inject a bit of life into the RP forum for a while. Since DAU 13 never got off the ground let's skip ahead and call this DAU 14. The setting: Presumably we need to have some kind of setting. Let's say then that we're in the Shifting Isles. Rumors of some items of power have rea...

Re: Some Site Suggestions/Issues for 10th Anniversary

To do a campaign right (or at least as right as we were previously able to - which of course, was horribly flawed, occasionally polarizing and what not. :D ) takes a LOT of time. I think I started building the game engine 4-6 months in advance of the first one I did (which was the second campaign - ...

Re: Dem spam bots.

Lol. Don't fret too much Allerion. Ricold = Sun is the only big one that I know of. I think other lores have an extra account or two, a lot of them were used for testing my campaigns since I needed lots of users and wanted to limit actual people in the know. I am relatively sure that most of those w...

Re: Dem spam bots.

Thank you for the overview. Seems like some good reasons to hand those out. On a similar note, I came across this place The Hall of Ancients . It looks like it hasn't been updated in a while. You're right. I fear I may have been the last person to update that. In truth, friend Ricold, I do believe ...

Re: RP Graveyard

For long running RP's player loss or GM burnout are the biggest factors, usually in combination. I only ran one, Tales of Beleriand, but I did find it hard to keep going sometimes. Fortunately I was blessed with a dedicated group of players, all of whom were Tolkien fans. But after a year and a half...

Re: Campaign recollections...

All I remember is that War of the Beard and Hour of the Wolf took up an insane amount of my life both prior to and during the campaigns. 4:00 PM my time was utter mayhem and I usually had 5-10 MSN windows up. :D It was worth it, even despite the multiple disasters and blow ups that occurred both wit...

Thanks. However since I now only drop by less than occasionally I think I can safely close the book on this RP. I had plans to work the inhabitants of Nan Thoronald through the stories of the second and third kinslayings and the fall of Gondolin. After that, any who survived the kinslayings would fu...

Fantasy Premier League 2011/12

I don't see anyone having kicked off the Ulthuan fantasy premier league yet. So I took the liberty of starting one.

If there is already a league going, I will delete this one.

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

I forgot about the curse of Hossa. However, I just can't see a 7 seed in the east beating a 2 seed from the west. If Philadelphia can find a matchup that can negate the Toews - Kane - Byfuglien combination then they have a chance. Thus far Nashville, Vancouver and Chicago, all of whom I think are be...

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

You will not be wrong.

The Flyers have a good team, but I believe they are over matched against Chicago. I have the Blackhawks in five and I'll be surprised at any other result. Either way though, a long Stanley Cup drought is about to end.

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

I am cheering for the Flyers to complete the comeback because that is something you might only see once or twice in your lifetime. Although having 3 original 6 teams in the final four would be ok too.

Montreal vs Chicago in the final. That would be ideal for me!

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

I'm torn. I want the Hawks to win because of Toews who's from Winnipeg and is all around class. But it would be hilarious to see Hossa lose again. I think cheering for Toews will just shade it for me. Otherwise I only hope that none of Vancouver, San Jose or Pittsburgh wins. Chicago, Montreal, Bosto...
