For me, I run 3 units of 15. Usually at least 1 will make it there.

Re: 3-4 Repeater Bolt Throwers
I think I agree with you on the survivability of RBT - with the addition of chameleon skinks. However, their inclusion still makes the army less durable against war machines. If the opponent has cannons, they would very likely have mortars/s5 stone throwers. The army would have less troops to spare ...

Because games workshop are pathologically incapable of making clear and obvious rules with no ambiguity. It is 2 wounds because warmachine wounds are equal to the number of crew they have. Wounds on the profile are (according to the brb) included "only for completeness". ](*,) Just an exc...

Re: Alternative Archmage set-ups
You probably won't need the 4+ ward in Option 1 if you're going to use the Banner of the World Dragon. Only magical shots (dwarfs and skaven which you should have Look Out Sir anyway) or magical CC attacks (which honestly speaking, is rather rare [who brings magic weapons these days and only a few u...

Re: Swordmasters Unit size
I use 3 units of 15 with only Musician together with 1 unit of 18 White Lions with Full Command for my 2500 list. My philosophy is keep them cheap (for HE) and killy. Many people cannot handle multiple SM units.

Re: How to combat DE
As BSB's are very critical to most lists these days, it would probably be worth the Dweller's if you can get in the range of it. It might be hard to do it safely though. Plus, killing the Cauldron BSB would net you at least 225 points, worth a turn's of Dweller's I believe.

A few things to comment upon - BSB on steed is going to lose "Look out Sir" in infantry. You're missing eagles. Lion Banner is not really needed.

Re: Great Eagle Tips and Tricks
Sorry but I do not accept that an eagle that stands 12 feet tall or more can successfully hide behind an infantry unit Mid flight. The only way a charge like this can occur is if it flies over the unit and I for one do not accept a players stance that the eagle is hugging the ground to avoid fire. ...

how about just putting your eagle behind a unit you're about to charge and that will probably flee. the fleeing enemy will have to take a dangerous terrain test. i'm not sure if it is every model in the unit or just the ones that would contact the eagle :? . the pursing unit may have to stop 1 inch...

Re: 2250 Beastmen to rate
The chariots are like HE Tiranoc Chariots, D6 impact hits and a dubious rider (1 attack per rider/mount iirc). The Bestigor only have 1 attack each like White Lions. In my experience, WL do not hit particularly hard. They'd be lucky if they cause a wound to heavy cav or 2-3 wounds to infantry. The o...

I like the rare choices of your first list. But overall your 2nd list appears to be better. I always include an eagle or two in all my lists, because they are useful for many tricksy stuff that comes with experience. Typically the eagles are best used to hunt war machines with T3 crew (the eagles fa...

Re: 2250 Tourney - please help me spend my last 210 points
The PG still seems to have no role here. Against a gunline, you have to utilise terrain. If the terrain is fixed, you'll need Eagles. The trouble with SW is that they can be easily pre-empted and charged whilst getting into position. Use Silver Helms to get rid of war machines if you have to, or use...

Re: 2250 Beastmen to rate
Being more of a power/tactical player, I would rate this as rather friendly. I dislike the hounds. They are too easy to target for panic tests. Down 2 models and you can cause panic to the unit and panic to others if the dawgs flee past them. Subsequently, you can also down the other 3 to cause anot...

1. If the Eagle could be charged by the Plague Monks at the end of the Declare Charges step of the Movement Phase, the Monks must declare a charge. 2. The Clan Rats will probably be moved first since it declared its charge first. It must move in such a way as to leave space for the Monks to enter co...

If you're not mounting your BSB, give him a GW.
A good use of T Chariots are to keep both of them together and threaten light units in the flanks. A charge range of 18 can deter all but flyers.

Re: GT Winner Aiming for a 3rd High Elf Title, can it be done?
Bolt Throwers are one of the more common ways to get rid of armour. The other methods require things like Star Lance or Star Dragon. I feel that S5 is not enough to crack 1+ saves like Chaos Knights or Empire Knights. But if you do not expect to face such units in the GT, I think you may be able to ...
