Re: Ptolemy's New HEs - Finished Cavalry Prince

Nice work, I really like the turquoise and the purple. The ambitious freehand cloth works well too, although I'd have like to have seen something along the bottom edge of the cloth, maybe some white runes or white flames just as like an edge trim. A bit of gold further up his body (maybe on helmet) ...

Re: (Citadel) colors for griffons

Could be some Stormvermin Fur on the light grey bits of the feathers and maybe Steel Legion Drab for the brown feathers. Karak Stone, Baneblade Brown and Rakarth Flesh are all likely colours they'd use. I'd suspect the Orange Leopard fur is probably a mixture of one of the above pale grey/browns wit...

Re: WTS - Green High Elves

Ok, below are the pictures of everything included. The models could do with a touch up here and there, but I've only played about 10 games with them, so aren't really that worn, (I haven't played with the Dragon at all). The arms broke off one of the Archers last time I was using them and I put them...

Re: WTS - Green High Elves

Thanks, I think I just need to start a fresh with the High Elves at some stage when I get sick of my O+G. I want to try a different colour scheme as my painting style has changed a bit since I painted the majority of my Green HE army. I'd love to keep them but I haven't really got the space.

WTS - Green High Elves [SOLD]

Edit: This army has now been sold. I'm looking to sell my Gritty Green Charace Army , so I can start a fresh. The army is about 70% painted (I could maybe finish it off as comission work if required). I've spent ages painting this army so if your looking for things on the cheap this isn't it, but if...

rdghuizing is spot on. Canonical have said they'll put a good quality camera in the device, optimised for low light situations as thats where smart phones are often used for taking photos. Which makes total sense, anyone serious about taking great photos in certain situations (eg. action/landscape/m...

Yeah your right, I think it will work fine as a desktop for low power applications, for office, web and even some light photo editing I think it will handle well. But for serious video editing or CAD work I think it will bve a good few years before the technology allows enough muscle to be built int...

Re: Modular phoenix?

How about velcro! :D In all seriousness though, you can get tiny rare earth magnets that stick together nicely, 1x2mm or 2x2mm or slightly larger ones. You might need 2 of the tiny ones on each part to get a good hold, so the hardest part will be aligning, drilling and gluing them all on... Good luck!

Re: What part of new book do you most look forward to?

For me I'm most looking forward to finally having more varied options in the Core so we can actually build varied and interesting armies again. It's just a shame they haven't released any new Spearelves, Archers or Silver Helms to build a new army around.

Hope that helps.

I run a mounted Prince with a Great Weapon, Heavy armour, Vembraces of Defence, Drgon helm and the Cloak of Beards, (I usually play against Dwarves). He leads a big unit of Silver Helms and makes a mess of Dwarf Lords.

Re: Cursed Marsh Massacre (High Elves vs. Beastmen 800 points)

This battle report was really interesting to me as I'm starting a Beastmen army and also play High Elves. The diagrams were clear although the bright green was a bit hard to look at. The seerstaff might have been useful in this game on your mage so you could pick the spells you wanted, the 2D6 S4 Ma...

I'd also love to see side by side photos as I really like the old ones they look great when you take their tabs off and glue them to their bases at different angles, but would like to mix some new ones in to my regiment. I think they'll need a little converting so they all look coherent. The new axe...

Re: An Ice Dragon

That is a great looking Dragon, the colour scheme is really nice, I much prefer a grey coloured ice dragon to a pale blue one. The only thing I would change is the teeth, claws and horns, I don't think brown suits the colour scheme, they'd look much better if they were black graded to brown on the v...

Re: Tiranoc Chariot

I love the base and your way of painting gold has a really nice rich yellowy brown colour to it, the only things I'm not too keen on are the the pink bit of cloth on the upright spear and also I think the contrast is a little too high on the horses robes. Overall great work though.

Re: Silver Helm command

Hi, for most of the horses I just used a craft knife and a file to remove the central section between the reins, its quite fiddly and takes about 15-20mins per horse, but I think its worth it to make these old horses look nicer. You need a really sharp knife with a good point then just score on the ...

Nice, I really like your colour scheme, the dark blue and black makes them look really menacing. I especially like the Archers and the bolt throwers. The Spearmen champion stands out to me as well with a cool conversion. Only slight critique I can offer is that your metallic parts look a little flat...

Thanks for the comments guys. I bought a Woodland Scenics grass mat 8x4, huge, relatively cheap and good quality. Just roll it out the amount you want onto a hard floor, (spongey carpet isn't soo good). Your Dragon Princes look great, the off white details on the armour creates the contrast I think the Phoenix Guard are lacking but this is becuase of the style of their armour. Half the time it took you to do the Sword Masters! It's more brown looking, maybe its just the photo but they seem to be lower contrast, not quite as well highlighted or shaded as the Sword Masters. How long did it take you to get t...
