Re: Take a Deep Breath
I wonder who will the new players play against if the WHFB veterans are missing: Stormcast Eternals vs Daemons again and again, fun. They should release all the new races at once, like a new WHFB game, if they want to attract broader new players. With the current release, they are still dependent on...

Re: 9th Edition rumours
For me, the most important thing is that I could play with my existing models in an exciting game, hopefully. As a High Player (with many armored elf models), I like those armored human models better than the existing Empire army, more elegant. I hope the renewed Elf models will be much more elegant...

The author must be kidding about Eldyra thing. Even I, who only read sections that concern Elves in the End Times story, catches the story about Eldyra in ET: Khaine.
I read in the blurred spoiler that there is a mention of Nippon. I'm eager about this.

They look like performing on stage, holding a mick, guitar, rising both hands. The champion is definitely the main singer from the look of his face. I could almost hear the heavy metal music.

Re: The End Times Fluff Discussion [May contain spoilers]
Interesting battle! Maybe the Wood Elves have been sent to the Chaos Realm by the deity to stole an artifact from Tzeentch to gain an upper hand in upcoming battle. The battle in Ulthuan should be more devastating. If one Imperial Dragon could decimate thousands of Beast Men, imagine what damage cou...

Re: The End Times Fluff Discussion [May contain spoilers]
There's a fluff about Ulthuan is connected to the Wood Elves' realm through the World Root, so even if the Great Vortex is undone, I think Ulthuan will still afloat. I couldn't imagine what kind of enemy force could overcome the might of the entire Ulthuan High Elves army, destroy Ulthuan and sink U...

Re: Campaign of the end of times Rumors (only rumors)
Interesting scenarios and miniatures. I'm eager to see what they'll have for High Elves miniature. About the scenario concerning High Elves in the End Times, I'm speculating that Malekith will undo the Vortex betraying Teclis, although this will be as Teclis expected. Nagash is resurrected, the Rats...

Re: Campaign of the end of times Rumors (only rumors)
Salute Eltharion the Grim! An interesting balance shake up in the Warhammer world from its current equilibrium. It'll be interesting to see battles of evil vs evil vs good (eg Nagash vs Chaos, Dark Elves vs Demons, Skaven vs Vampire) instead of the usual good vs evil. The conclusion will be interest...

I'm also curious about Dragon Mage wearing Dragon Armor. Hopefully Dragon Mage will be fixed so he could wear magic armor for decent AS, and he could choose another default spell other than Fire Ball but not the 8th ed. Flaming Sword.

Re: How do you cope with 2 x hydras and a Black Dragon?
Recently, my Archmage cast Fiery Blast on a War Hydra protected by the Ring, miscast, rolled double 1 and disappeared in Turn 1. It's risky killing the protected War Hydra with spells but it's worth trying with D6 and 2D6 flaming magic missile spells. Then my 2 RBTs did single shot, 1 shot managed t...

Re: Swan Song Army List Blog of 7th Edition
I'm told by a fellow that Sword Masters could have some fun against the Ogres by advancing to less than 6" from the Ogres so they couldn't have impact hits. Last time against Ogres, my Sword Masters were charged by a combined charge of a Tyrant, BSB and a Bull Rhinox and broke. A Minor Win is s...

Re: Archmage vs. Lord on Black dragon
If you have Archmage and Mage, I'd make the Archmage invincible with Folariath's Robe and Talisman and Saphery (plus Silver Wand for more spells). Magic offense is reduced but it would be still decent with the help of the Mage. Your Archmage would also be safe from cannon sniping, template weapon da...

Re: Swan Song Army List Blog of 7th Edition
The battle against the Druchii is interesting for it showed that your army is rather resilient against shooting and magic. Scouts in the woods is really annoying. I usually flush them out with my White Lions or Dragon Princes with Banner of Ellyrian when there's no Shadow Warriors. Looking forward t...

Re: How to screen Sword Masters?
Maybe the article about screening the Sword Masters with Spear Elves is the Cross 'Switchblade' tactic article. It can't be found now here. Like mentioned above, I also use deployment and terrain to screen my 12-14 Sword Masters. They're my reserve, I usually put them behind archers or Spear Elves. ...

Re: Warhammer 7.1 in 2010
My guess is that it has something to do with the upcoming releases. I read that GW had fixed the Monster Reaction test rule to make taking Dragons viable in 7th Ed. before they released Dragons for the High Elves. Maybe they will make cavalry better before the upcoming Tomb Kings and Bretonian relea...

Re: Rule of Burning Iron, Pit of Shades and Targetting
Ok, here's my take. I agree that Skink Priest on Stegadon with crews is treated as single model, per the 'Monstrous Mount' rule. Against Pit of Shades, the hits are worked out so that Skink Priest, crews and Stegadon are hit on 4+ if the base is partially covered. The problem is how to take the Init...

Re: Rule of Burning Iron, Pit of Shades and Targetting
I think the way Pit of Shades works against Skink Priest on Stegadon is the same as it works against Prince on Star Dragon. Stegadon is a monstrous mount with crews while Star Dragon is a monstrous mount without crews. I haven't seen how Pit of Shades works against Star Dragon though.

Here's the way I perceive it: Q. Are the spells from the Pink Horrors and the Lord of Change Flaming Attacks? A. No, the Flaming Attacks rule only covers close combat and missile attacks. I think "spells" here means spells in general. There are non-magic missile spells and magic missile sp...

Agree to the points mentioned above. You might want to consider an interesting combat BSB setup that I recently found somewhere: Noble - BSB, Sword of Might, Helm of Fortune, Gem of Courage, Barded Elven Steed, Shield With the Gem of Courage and re-roll, even Break Test at Ld 5 could be passed (22.7...

Re: What do you espect from eighth edition?
I expect from 8th Edition: 1. Str 7 doesn't destroy Chariot in one blow. I never like the rule. Hopefully with the limited access to chariots it will be feasible. 2. Already mentioned above, Monster and Handler operates as skirmishers or something like that so no monster with handlers could move fre...

Re: Shadow Warriors Tactics...
I just remembered something, in the battle report report section Stormie used Shadow Warriors to safely lure Fanatics from within woods which Great Eagle and Reavers couldn't do.
With their flexible movement and 360 deg. LOS, they could be used also as RBT guards if needed.

Re: Shadow Warriors Tactics...
I find that they do their best at warmachine hunting and march blocking. Great Eagle could be destroyed by bolt throwers or cannon when hunting war machine while the Shadow Warriors could suffer less from the shots. The same with march blocking, they are quite safe in the woods. An army with no magi...
