Re: Dawn of a new age
Old face here. Can't wait to try out the new book. Maybe I can be one to put forth some advice this time around instead of stealing from everyone else

Re: Need desperate help to motivate myself to paint!
@Wicksi I am also looking for motivation to get mine painted. Maybe we can compete to paint a unit a week or something and post pictures of the results. We could even have votes or something for keep us going. Nothing more than friendly competition, but then at least we would have a goal to strive f...

Pha's Protection
I apologize if this has been asked before. When you cast Pha's Protection at the higher level, is it 12" from the caster or 12" from a unit you opt to cast the spell on?

Re: Coven of Light in a siege battle
Yeah, I am tinkering with the list now. I overlooked the Banner of Sorcery. It is supposed to be there. I had to drop some swordmasters to fit it in. Are we under the concensus to drop the 4th Mage then. I guess Strength 6 will have to do. Actually it probably better because Banishment is dropping o...

Re: Coven of Light in a siege battle
@Brewmaster- I do get to choose the number of castle sections. That was one of the things that really had me baffled at the beginning of this thread. I Definitely think I am going for the smaller castle. It does too many things... Keeps mages close, limits number of units I need, limits number of un...

Re: Coven of Light in a siege battle
Rabidnid, thanks for your input. It has not gone unappreciated nor underestimated. I actually like the "minority" comments because they help me see outside what I am focused on. I had been following the coven of light threads on here and I thought that it may be a good idea in a siege due ...

Re: Coven of Light in a siege battle
Never played the list before. It is not in our Meta either. I don't think that he would be expecting it. I do expect him to run a mostly infantry army to assault the fortress. Unfortunately I have to deploy inside the walls, so my tactics and mobility are severely limited. I was just trying to find ...

Re: Coven of Light in a siege battle
Do you think a strength 6 Banishment will be good enough. I was going for the extra mage just for the strength 7.

Re: Coven of Light in a siege battle
Don't get me wrong, speed of light is just as good. WS2 vs WS10 means he will still need 5s. Speed and Pha's would be rediculous. Speed may also throw him for a loop if he is expecting Pha's. Is it bad that I am now reconsidering light and reducing the investment in characters so I can get more infa...

Re: Coven of Light in a siege battle
I know it is fool-hearty to do so, but I am really relying on Pha's Protection to keep me alive. If I can turn 4+ to a 5+ or 6+ to hit then my survivability goes up significantly. I am leaning more toward the small castle to "turtle" my army. That will also mean I only need 5 units to man ...

Re: Coven of Light in a siege battle
Thanks for the rapid response @ Brewmaster- When I say run away, I just mean the rules for buildings. If a garrison unit loses combat it flees. A unit assaulting a building that loses just move 1'' away. The siege rule as per Blood in the Badlands try to simplify the battle. Every wall, gate, or tow...

Coven of Light in a siege battle
Once again I find myself reaching out for the guidance of this group. So far you have not failed me so let's keep it going. I am playing a Blood in the Badlands campaign and have recently been invaded by the same Nurgle Army that my dual dragon list trampled. This battle happens to be a siege of one...

What I am about to do is the ultimate form of Threadmancy. Not only is this topic old, but it is in our archives. I want to build some siege terrain for the new blood in the badlands book. I google imaged high elf terrain and this came up. http://www.ulthuan.net/archive/viewtopic.php?t=22716&pos...

Re: Is The Word Christmas Politically Correct?
Here is how I see it, it is the holiday season for many religions. If you are Christian wish me Merry Christmas; Jewish, wish me Happy Chanukah; Pagan, Happy Winter Solstice.... Unless you live in a country that will kill you for your religious beliefs, people shouldn't be concerned with being polit...

Re: Advice on magic lore for 2 dragon list (Victory)
Thank you for all your input. I decided to go with Metal since I was going against Chaos. His list was very small. A unit of Chosen, A unit of Nurgle warriors, a unit of marauders, 2 hellcannons, and a giant. I gave the silver wand and Talisman of endurance to the dragon mage. The second mage go dis...

Re: Advice on magic lore for 2 dragon list
Thanks for the input Bolt Thrower, but I can't drop the Prince as he is my General and he is set. I am going for the fun/something different to play with this list. I think I am going with silver wand and Guardian Phoenix on Dragon Mage and Dispel Scroll and Talisman of Endurance on Mage. As it stan...

Advice on magic lore for 2 dragon list
My local gaming store is running a blood in the badlands campaign. My General is on a dragon so I have decided to run a 2 dragon list in his army. After Christmas when I get a 3rd Dragon I plan to run a mage with Beast to get transformation with seer staff and try a 3 dragon list. I have no idea how...

Can anyone explain to me what the racial ability for High Elves in Blood in the Badlands actually does. I understand re-rolling distance but what does shoreline being adjacent to my empire mean? Any interperetation would help. Thanks
