Re: MSU 2400 - Latest List Revision
Hi SM, yes I definitely play the avoidance game have noticed it more so lately and a few players have pointed it out to me after a game. I do still commit to combat but only when necessary and where I am certain to either overrun with a charge or if I think I can break the unit in my opponents turn....

Re: Shadow Warriors - a new 70pt Skeinsilver for the new meta?
I've played two units of 7 for a 5-6 games now and find them a really useful addition to my MSU lists. In one game versus OnG a unit managed to bait a SOBU bus into position to remove the Level 4 thanks to a lurking unit of Swordmasters and themselves taking out the Blorc BSB in CC. Pretty much won ...

Re: Help with a 2000pt army: Brand New to Fantasy
Hi Alpharius101, it's nice to see some other new players to the High Elves. As has been said by others shooting in WHFB isn't as strong as 40K however it definitely does have it's place, I play a MSU style that is heavy on shooting and redirection which works well for me as I am able to sacrifice a ...

I wouldnt personally use black wash over white unless it has been really watered down. I'd use a sepia wash personally but would also dilute this as well

Re: Edit: 1000 Point Battles - Having Problems! Help Requested.
Personally I'd try getting more troops on the table as for me you have too many points tied up in characters something like; Level 2, Dispel Scroll, Khaines Ring 10 Archers, mus 10 Archers, mus 20 Spears, mus, std 10 Swordmasters, mus, champ White Lion Chariot 2x RBT should give you plenty of shooti...

Noooo...! Not more Reavers! This small five man unit is taking me ages to paint haha. Maybe in a years time I'll have the enthusiasm to paint more ;) I'm hoping SH/DP cavalry are a bit more fun. I'd switch the harbringers for musicians as they're far more useful, they dont need to be WYSIWYG and you can claim that the swords and crests play the music of the air as they gallop around (I do)

Re: Completely new to High Elves
Its definitely viable and can work well, I prefer LSG over archers and spears but a large Spear block can work, you'll need to support it well with magic however as our core is fairly weak but with Wildform or Mindrazor can perform great on the table. Really from what I can see is you want a combine...

Re: Completely new to High Elves
What you run really depends on what type of army you like to play, as RE. Lee says there really isn't a standard list for any playstyle although large WL blocks are popular. For instance I play a shooting heavy fast MSU list that I still need to write bat reps for (3 from 3 at latest local tournamen...

Re: The crew of the Sea Lion - A new player and his army
I like the look of the amended list although personally I'd prefer to see a second skycutter and a unit of Sisters over the Dragon Prince unit for more shots and the ability to strip regen via the sister's bows
Edit. Also you can only use magic items once in an army. You have sword of might twice

Re: Da Dok's Workshop - Ratvan does Greenskins (40k)
So after putting a considerable amount of effort into searching the internet, reading the rulebook and battle reports I have decided that I will amend the “End Goal” list to not only avoid Fine Cast Models (Big Gunz – Kannon’s) but also to stream line the army into a Kult of Speed direction which sh...

Da Dok's Workshop - Ratvan does Greenskins (40k)
TL/DR – Growing Tired of WHFB picking up 40k Orks So to be frank I have become a little tired of Warhammer Fantasy, I love the game and the miniatures however playing for fun and tournaments has become a little dull for me since essentially most of the “tactics” that I often see employed is Six Dici...

Re: Griffon Hero builds.
I make regular use of a Noble Griffon rider with Heavy Armour, Lance, Enchanted Shield and a Luckstone. For 240 points you get an excellent chaff clearer, who can later support your main combat units by charging engaged enemy units in the rear. Often the rider will get killed as the enemy directs a...

Re: Clouds of Elves, or how to duck and weave
Personally I quite like the idea of the list but would make some changes, it'd still have the focus on shooting a movement but would also introduce a small CC element for the mid to late game turns Loremaster of Hoeth, Sword of Might, Shield of the Merwyrm, Book of Hoeth, Potion of Foolhardiness Nob...

Re: 2500pts. Army of Lothern: Help Needed!
Personally I prefer the MSU/MMU style of play to large blocks of troops anyway. Its all down to you really, if you like the style then I say go for it but get a feel for different units as your collection grows aim for 1500 point games they'll get you a knowledge of what they can and cant handle

What do you mean by get stuck with? Also does anyone else have any feedback? Would really appreciate it as I still do need som...

Re: 2500pts. Army of Lothern: Help Needed!
Its a very nice theme but one that is fairly easy to get stuck with; for a mostly MSU list I'd go with
Loremaster, BoH, 4++ Shield, +1s sword
BSb on Eagle, Reaver Bow set up
2x Eagle Nobles
3x 16 Seaguard
2x Bolt Thrower Boats
29 WL, fc, BoTWD
2x Bolt Thrower
2x Eagle
7 Sisters

Re: Do we need our core cavalry?
I have multiple core set ups, at the moment running with 2x15 Seaguard and 2x 10 Archers it brings a nice amount of shooting and drops to my MMU/MSU lists.
